I figured I would upload this again, since I did get a little further.
This was a little project I was doing to kinda keep myself animating. I am going for as many of my friends and familiars in the fandom to plug into each line of the song.
So far, by appearance it's
airu
tiamat
keovi
meesh and
dragoneer
likeshine
dingbat
I haven't done much work in it lately, so I can probably say I'll never finish it, but it's fun to share what I have! It's very rough for Dingbat's part, I haven't inbetweened it completely, and I haven't even added her mouth,
AND it loops abruptly (I'm sorry you'll have to mute it to keep from going crazy), but that's what I got for now :)
(please don't ask me to include you, like I said I don't think I'll get much further, and it's up to me who I wanna animate for now)

Oh oh oh, I was actually gunna put a Sergal in there at one point. Dunno where, now. I don't think I'd ever get that far but if I ever did! I have to make a shout out to Sergals.
And dudes,
ouisch is an animation monster, she's got more talent in her little finger then most animators have throughout.
And dudes,

even if you don't finish it, at least complete the song. I want to see where you go during the "dramatic Parts". and even in it's rough state, it moves fairly well, goo balance on the critter's movements. you did this very well. Just complete throught he song. I like the roughness.

Absolutely outstanding lip-synch and expression work. The emotions showcased range from childlike wonder to bitter angst, all in accordance to the musical cues. The little, few-frame animation filigree like when Airu shuffles bashfully onto the stage, or where Meesh lets out a little smile as he vanishes after his solemn harmonizing air are what really endears me to the whole picture. The juxtaposition of Likeshine stalking off and Dingbat popping up from below is a nice and witty maneuver which I appreciate.
The adorability-enchancing stylization is also top-notch in its grin-fostering effectiveness.
The finished version of this is bound to be leave the audience in tears and awed emotional disarray, much like the first listeners of the song used.
Thank you for the great and quality work, and for producing an another addition to the limited and precious wealth of community spotlight videos, like the ones Cerberus creates.

Ah, I am so glad you noticed all those little things. It's little characteristics like that which make it fun to animate characters. Sometimes I think people don't notice the subtle emotions I throw in, mostly because my animations are so rough, but yeah it's cool that you saw that!
Ah I hope someday I get the energy to get further, it's a DAMN LONG SONG tho, so I can't ever promise I'll finish it. But it's like, my dream to be one of those animators that can just whip out a full colored animation without much trouble, to any scenario they want to animate, but I lack the passion for animation, and the motivation to do all that work.

This particular animation is extremely well cleaned up, with no extraneous technical lines or suchlike, but if by "rough" you mean the lack of colour or background, then I'd say that it more of an enhancing factor for conveying emotions rather than a hindrance. The variations of the trollface are so viscerally striking(and thus entertaining) exactly because they are the refined versions of specific emotional responses, presented with a minimum of graphical elements employed. So whatever emotions - basic or subtle - can be shown on a realistic face, can be shown on those cute simplified muzzles to an even stronger degree.
This is why I wouldn't worry about people picking up your nuanced artistic devices if I were in your place.
Over the years I'd developed a probably controversial attitude of favouring the artist's well being over the productivity, choosing to shun the "braving the barricades" approach that many artists feel compelled to adopt, so I gladly and gratefully accept the current version as a complete venture, only regarding the possible continuation of it as an independent heroic effort rather than a fulfillment of an obligation, taken for granted. In fewer words, don't push yourself if the challenge is too demanding of your time and effort. It *is* a damn long song, after all, and my imagination is good enough to find pleasure in mentally simulating the epic headbanging portion of it in this style.
You dream is commendable, but I expect those animators you aspire to join are the same flesh and bone, with their art blocks and self-castigating lamentations, even against the background of awesome productivity. But increased skill and technical savvy does save you a lot of time and headache, so it's a bountiful goal all the way.

Thank you for answering me ! As an itinerant commenter that sort of made a very inconsistent unpaid career of dropping in here and there around this site with a reactionary input of questionable value, an important component of my motivation is sating my vanity by seeing my feedback being feedback'd in return, hopefully proving helpful or at least entertaining to the original artist or writer.
An peculiar display of prowess this piece's proven to be: your usual strong point is the colour work, all lush and intense, making some absolutely outrageous neon combinations look not just passable, but thrilling - and yet here you have made a brilliant and complex artistic composition with only digital ink at your disposal. It's like proclaiming that you're not left-handed in a swordfight you'd been fighting with a blade in your off-hand beforehand.

Perhaps you should see if other animators would be willing to do a collaboration on it, each person do a certain amount of the song. since it is such a long song it might never be finished, but even unfinished i still think its worth viewing, and if left open ended you may still years down the road get new people wanting to add a little bit here and there. That way its not such a daunting task for just one person to accomplish.
perhaps the easiest way to do it would be if everyone exported it to a video and then in the end someone is only merging video, unless the different versions of flash actually play well together and someone would just have to import the different sections.

I suppose the work load could be shared, but that means organizing and depending on other people to get it finished. It's just a silly little project I have to go back to if I feel bored enough, nothing epic, yet lol.
I imagine that if I ever did get it all sketched out and such, I could have other people color it, but that's about the only future I see for collaborative works on this.

I will honestly say this is one of the most amnusing flashes I have ever seen in the entirety of my life. The fact that you incorporate multiple characters....ad that they match up..and that there is sound, and that its an awesome song, and that its actually pretty well done, and liqwgbdxlwjbfliweliuwiouaewouun
Just thought you should know. You have inspired me to do great things ^_^
