My buddy
foxforrester was kind enough to draw this up for me. Its a follow-up to a piece I worked on, involving one of my characters going through his final phases before putting him to rest. This is his second of his final phases, Veritae Obscuritas. After Veritae Memoriam loses his cloak, his truer self is seen beneath it... Bit by bit, the blackness of his heart is shed from his body until eventually, only Saber remains. Yet what remains of Saber? And will his dear friend be able to survive long enough to reunite with his old friend?

Hah. Not quite...
Imagine something like one's torment and hatred wrapping around one's body. In essence, this is the very reflection of his soul after everything that happened.
He lost the only real place he considered home (as well as his lover, his children, and many of his friends) when it was obliterated... Not only that, but that home itself was literally bound to his very being... Also, the only real man that he could never kill still torments him; the man who antagonized him and his friends, and was guiding the hands that destroyed Saber's home and family...

And after his vengeance, he hopes to be able to rest his soul eternally... However, there is only one who can help him achieve this.
On a side note, I am actually kinda surprised. This is, in essence, the last moments of one of my longest running original characters (and first fursona). I wanted to finally put him to rest, because there are some bad memories attached to him that I'd like to wipe off my ledger, so to speak. But I couldn't just say he vanished, or do a simple write-off. But I never imagined I would unknowingly put so much work into someone's finale...
