If you can't suspend your sense of reality for simple concepts like alternate colors, male-patterned female characters, or even winged characters perhaps you shouldn't be on an art site.
I named the disapproving pony Sid Fony as he reminded me of Sid from Toy Story while drawing him. Pony on the right is of course Rough Draft. She's undergone some minor design and color changes to appear more streamlined.
I seem to have heavily improved my pony drawing skills since last I've tried.
A special thanks to my
korinna_feh for suggesting the imaginary creature.

I'm not really serious. Just kinda pointing out how completely one sided that concept is up there. Of course people aren't going to always accept what you say, no matter how fantastic or purely imagined it is. Just like you want them to do, you *also* need to be able to handle this kind of reaction, not just tell people, "Get out of my fandom!" in return.
...though I can easily see you saying, "If you can't deal with my ideas, stop watching me." Telling them they can't be on the website seems a bit... extreme.

Though you do come with a valid point and perspective, I must clarify the phrase "shouldn't be on an art site."
You see, I am not declaring those people to leave (or "gtfo my page") because they disagree with my sense of realiam, but because of the previously mentioned grievances are fairly common on sites like this and thus an odd thing to openly complain about. Take some of the more well known artists and their creations like MaxBlackrabbit's Zig Zag (a tiger-striped skunk) and Raven Hunt (a blue canine), the fruit-colored cast of Miupix's Peaches and Cream, or most of Fossil's saurian Jurassic Beauties. I might go as far to say that most artists on this site have at least one odd-colored character in their roster.
In the end, who is to say what is realistic on an art site as this? A site that promotes anthropomorphic animals. We've broken a sense of reality when we have quadrupedal animals unnaturally walk on two legs, have mixed-in parts of human anatomy, and gain the cognitive functions to speak. This feeling of irony was replicated in the image by having a peagus argue to a unicorn about what is real.
I do want to thank you for your well thought-out comments.

Suspension of disbelief is paramount to the enjoyment of any item of fantasy/fiction. You have to believe there are wizards and witches living among the moogles. That buried beneath the earth or atop a plateau is an entirely new continent with creatures that have survived for millions of years. And that a large sled with a spinning parabolic disk behind it can travel through time.
But, the important thing is, one must stay true to the "rules" of that world. Don't set up a limitation in one chapter based on the physics of that world and then totally ignore it in the following chapter. It sounds funny when you say it, but the rules of fantasy and fiction have to make sense within the borders of the story. There's no better representation of how rules enhance a story than in the Warner Bros. Road Runner and Coyote cartoons. For those cartoons Chuck Jones created nine primary rules that every cartoon he made featuring the pair followed, and they were the best in the series. Later cartoons made by other directors who didn't follow Chuck's rules weren't as satisfying in their results, IMHO.
Unfortunately, Sid is trying to apply his rules to another's world, and that just doesn't fly -- like his claim for the alicorndog. He needs to change his point of reference, and adjust his thinking accordingly. Or, as Rough Draft says, kindly use the exit from my world to return to your own.

I can't help but recall dialog from a movie many years ago. Two young boys were having a discussion and one lad asks the other, "If Superman and Mighty Mouse had a fight, who'd win?" "Why Superman of course." The other boy replied. Mighty mouse is only a cartoon character. Superman is real."
I get this all the time. All us fantasy artists do. "Your character's a pony, she can't wield weapons," for example. There's also an entire group dedicated to bashing artists who create new species of ponies, PokeMon, Digimon and others. My friend got harassed for drawing a female gardevoir (PokeMon) with breasts and eyelashes. And then there's how a lot of us got trolled for drawing anthropomorphic aircraft. I just tell those morons "it's my fantasy and I can do whatever I want with it."
By the way, the mare to the right is adorable, and I have 2 winged canine characters.
