Day trip to California Gold Rush country.

Here along Parrots Ferry Rd. we see New Melones Lake, used as a reservoir since the late 1970's.

This was actually not the intended trip. Our attempt to visit Sonora, CA was thwarted by the town having a festival and parade. As neat as it might have been to have stayed, it was clear I was not going to find a parking space to we continued northward.
