RudeRoo Design Branding
It's important to present a cohesive theme to your branding of your image if you want to be a professional or at least give a professional impression. This means coming up with a logo, a style and theme that you can apply to all of the products and services you produce. Getting that name out there along with image recognition helps reinforce your brand to customers.
This is a sampling of some of the items I have applied this to.
Address Labels: There are simple address labels for mailing out with the name and address clearly printed. Don't get too busy or fancy with this. You want to get the stuff mailed, not worry so much about how it looks getting there.
Product Labels. Same as the address labels, but this is where you can do full color, put your title out there, short description, and contact information. This is the sticker you would then put on the back of badges or sketcbhook pages you do. When you do that, they help advertise for you because others will see the badges or sketchbooks and will be able to identify quickly who did it.
Business Cards: Always helpful. Same design elements, shifted around to fit the format. Buy them in bulk and they are cheap. Include them in any mailing you send out.
Art Post Cards: These are mini fliers of what you do. Think of them as oversized business cards. Use the same title fonts, graphics, etc, but you can play with the colors as need be. You still want that consistent identifiable aaspect.
Signage: Again, since you went to all that trouble to get yoru business card and stickers out there, you should have your banner for your table be similar so people recognize it. This is a small print of my 6 foot banne that sits on a frame over my table.
CD's" You can print your own labels for these as well. Again, use the same design elements to build the family feel to the whole package. Make it instantly identifiable as being your brand.
Yes, all of these do cost some money to product, but thanks to inkjet/laser labels today, much of this can be done very affordably at home with your own printer. It may be worth dedicating a couple of commissions JUST to pay for some professional printng of business cards. Tell your commissioners this and they'll likely be happy to help out.

Right now I do 1/2 page handouts, cause really I only am able to put them out on the free tables at cons. They have worked out really well so far, however I wonder if business cards would do better or worse. The only reason I havent got them, cause 1 I cant do them myself, and 2 they tend to get covered up easier.
