I love the design of her armor, even if it's not practical, and I love how vibrant the purple is - it pops nicely!

It's very pretty. She has her fingers on the trigger bar, though, and the crossbow is not cocked. Since it's strong enough to require a stirrup, she probably should cock it before she finds what she's hunting for.

:nods: I'd assume she'd cock it when she finds what she's looking for, but not run around with it cocked and ready to go all the time... which is why I drew it this way. As for the finger placement, I was just thinking of what would feel natural

Oh, and you would not want to hold the quarrel on a crossbow like that by slipping it under the bowstring - you will either 1) nick the string with the broadhead, or 2, tear the fletching when the string passes over it.

also is it really wise to have the bolt loaded before having the string pulled? Since it has that loop you put your foot threw for support when you cock it, wouldn´t the bolt risk falling off?

to be honest, I don't really know. When I was looking up reference images, all the images I saw were configured like this, so I figured it was correct.

I'm seeing a few small flaws in perspective (or then it's because I pulled an all-nighter), but the left thigh (her left) looks like it's on the foreground, 'on top' of the right thigh. Also, the crossbow's string just doesn't look right, as if the foreground half is longer than the background half.

I never liked Wow-style or Elven-style (whatever one associates it with) armor like this.

Shame, cause it's a really good piece, but the dislike of that armor eventually does make me dislike it...

I understand that a lot of people aren't fond of armor that doesn't cover a lot, like this. I know it's unrealistic, but I really like it, for whatever reason. Its something in art that always draws my attention, and I find particular joy in creating original designs.

Anyway, I'm sorry that you and others don't like it - but you gotta draw what you like and enjoy, and that's what is going on there with me. I draw what I like, and if others like it, great, and if not, well, you can't win 'em all. I can accept that.

Just posting my own opinion why I dislike this one more than other pieces. I still see plenty here coming I do like a lot, so one single one not isn't a particular harm or anything :).

Also, as I stated in another comment, but I suppose didn't mention in yours while I should, it's not exactly the lack of effective armor, as more the Wow/Elven decoration (oversized shoulder pads with spikes).

But of course that's still just my opinion. I suppose if it didn't have such a strong support it would hardly still show up in pretty much every fantasy RPG these days, much to my dislike... :/

I am not against armor being a style rather it covers a lot or not, has any kid ever not put a box around them and said it was armor cause they think it is cool to do it? x3

I mean why does all armor have to be used for battles? x3 and not just to look hot or sexy and so on... I think she looks amazing myself ^^ If she wanted armor to cover everything I think she would do so, but you know what a full set of armor makes moving harder... and it really likes pulling on the fur... x.x

It's not particularly about wearing "little armor"... I agree it can look sexy at times, if not completely inefficient at it's task.

I just don't vibe with these markings, or especially the oversized spiked shoulder pads.
Just another opinion out there...

I love to do quick scetches with armor like this, I usually drawn greek and roman style partial armors, my favorite part of the armor to design of course is the helmets. Love the art work!
