There were so many stars... There are only a few times in my life time I've been able to see this many stars in the sky... On a boat out in the ocean, In the mountains at 2 am... and here... In the middle of a desert in TX. Just starting out with star photography and just wanted to see how many stars I could get with this image... I know it's not very clean or "Noise free"

Nice! Try getting the Pentax O-GPS1 some time if you want to do these insanely well. Uses the SR system to prevent star trails for up to 5m with a remote shutter.
Also - Try 3200 ISO for 20seconds. Might cut down on the slow shutter noise.(As the k5 handles high ISo noise quite well.
