Honestly I did enjoy the game before the pwoer-creep effect...I think at flanking was last decent idea.

Shadow ability, and echo started a whole new mess of stupidity.

Your more old school than I. Invasion was the newest set when I first started playing. Though I did play with alot of the older cards when I got my hands of them.

Sadly yep! I started when it was new, and stopped after..Mirage set roughly or so..I think mirage and weatherlight were where they started cramming in flanking and shadow stuff.

Lightning bolt..one red, three damage..doesn't get any more straightforward then that!

IMO, magic isnt worse than it was, just different. Back in the days, it was the spells and enchantments that were really powerful while the creatures were kinda weak, now is flipped. The spells are weaker but the creatures are much stronger.

When a guy was showing he could summon a 20/20 or whatnot on turn 3 and with 3 mana, that is a big kooky, if you ask me.

That sounds like some kind of combo, even back in the old days you guys had combos. Just instead of turn 1 channel fire balling we do other things. :p
