These are all the fish my mate,
and I kept while going fishing at the lake.
I made sure to keep the fish we caught during our camping trip mostly in tact for an all-together picture when we got home. All I did was gut them to keep them from rotting, I cleaned them later on after getting home.
There are a bunch of bluegill (I don't feel like counting), 2 channel catfish, and a largemouth bass. I wasn't going to keep the bass because he was under the legal size limit to keep, but he had swallowed my hook and by the time I got him to the shore, his stomach was starting to get pulled out of his mouth through his throat, I knew he wouldn't live anyway and would just die and rot in the lake if I had let it go, so I kept it.

meh, idk, i've tried many different cats in many different places, both farm raised and naturally raised, and cooked several different ways, it always seems to have that muddy taste to me. Bluegill on the other hand has almost a sweet taste to it and with them being a smaller fish, you get smaller fillets that come out nice and juicy, yet crispy. I'm actually making a batch of bluegill for dinner tonight and I let them soak in a teriyaki marinade overnight, but i'll be baking them in a butter and garlic mix and served with rice. ^_^
they always will have that taste, it has to do with what they eat. not gonna go there. I prefer whole flounder, my dad is a GOD when it comes to cooking whole fish XD ooohhh, that sounds really good ^^ I have had to change around my diet so fried foods aren't good. I had high cholesterol at my last doctor visit, so I'm cutting back a lot of the foods i like. but i can still have fish as long as they aren't fried XD which isn't a problem... it's just a headache ordering at the fish camps around here. i live in an area where fried foods are the preferred cooking methods for fish.
yah fried foods are very much preferred around here as well. I have found that baking foods can be very good, fish itself is a healthy food but when fried, it becomes bad because of the oil. I also normally use butter to bake in, which is unhealthy, but you can take a half/half mixture of milk and water and add about 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar in the mix and throw in about 2-3 tablespoons of garlic cloves and bake the fish in that mixture for a healthy, and delicious, meal.
you can substitute olive oil instead of butter, i find it has a very similar taste, and not as much nutritional no nos XD I've slipped a few times and gotten fast food, but that's only been once maybe twice a month, so i'm doing better than i had (two or three times week XD) I've found that tilapia and salmon go very well with various vegetables. you don't get many freshly caught fish out here, and i don't really have many places i can go fishing.
