Kobolds do three things very well it seems:
1. Dig
2. Make traps
3. Make more kobolds
And it would be odd NOT to volunteer for digging duty if you had the proportionate strength of a dragon in such a small body. Besides, Fen's bad with children who can play the most elaborate Home Alone pranks ever, so babysitting/egg-sitting duty is out.
