He looks more terrified to me, hiding behind those tires and shaking like that.

Traditionally, the male is timid on Sadie Hawkins Day, and will do anything to avoid capture by one of the ladies. Now, if you've seen L'il Abner, and the "ladies" of Dogpatch, you'd know why the males are terrified of being captured and dragged to the alter. Makes you wonder about the sexuality of Al Capp somewhat... but he appears to have been completely straight... though he did have a pronounced leg fetish. (He was missing one of his own.)

*nods* Yes, I know the Sadie Hawkins' Day race from Li'l Abner. One of the reasons I made the comment. But wasn't sure how many others here know that strip by Capp. But I always loved the shmoon (the official plural of shmoo, the universal animal. :)
