They are wonderful dogs! Much more primitive and reactive than most other dogs I've worked with, and definitely the sort of dog who needs a job or will drive you bonkers - but I'm smitten :)

Beauceron's are such a rare breed, how and where do you find such a reputable breeder? I wanted one, but got my Rottie instead (which I love dearly).

They really aren't that rare! There quite a number of coe breeders all over the u.s. at least I see them all the time. My suggestion is to find your nearest dog show there's almost always a few entered (you can check the catalogue to see if any are entered)

They aren't common but there are some great breeders in the US - I will warn you though the personality is TOTALLY different than a rottie, doberman, or GSD (though the looks are superficially similar). It's a bit harder to meet owners/breeders but there's a good beauceron yahoo group too that is happy to share info and might be able to hook you up with people/dogs in your area to meet :)

My parents have had 2. I grew up around one. They do sit weird dont they! And it actually almost looks like it perpetuates genetic hip dysplasia. Beautiful friendly dogs. Best friend of mine as i was growing up!

Does he watch football every Sunday without missing a game? And does he also wear a mesh back hat and keep a six pack by his side at all times?
