Its a hard game to say the least... especially if u get too many speed upgrades. I still like the system where u can grab enemy ships and use them as a shield, but daaaamn is it hard.... Plus the only way u get the actual ending is if u beat it on hard I think. If you play the arcade version, however, the ending has a LOT more bad translations.... wow...
