Crystals in the grass... That reminds me of one of my favorite books when I was a kid, where a unicorn had to rub her forehead on a crystal in order to get her horn. Dang, now I have to find that book and look at it again!

OMG!! I have that book!! Somewhere....forget what it's called but I KNOW I've got it! XD the unicorn's name was Alexandria if I remember correctly....always stuck in my mind since it made me think of Egypt LOL Wierd I know but still XD

Haha! I went and found it after seeing this image. It's called The Unicorn Who Had No Horn by Margaret Holland.

I'm preeeeeetty sure there was a sequel too, with a pink unicorn.

I love that you did a unicorn with cloven hooves, tufted tail and bearded chin. A lot of artists just draw a horse, slap a horn on it and call it a unicorn.

The unicorn is quite nice, but it is the background that is awe inspiring. It's rather simple in design (field, forest, sky), but the detail in the cliffs edge and the color in that cloud is just beautiful.

Far too much of humanity believes that unicorns are only for girls, and a symbol of being gay.
But unicorns are symbols of wisdom, purity, strength, honor, and many other positive things. They would not be prominent on many royal family crests otherwise.
