On a recent trip to Galena, Illinois, I couldn't help but take some pictures of the house of President Grant. Tours inside the house are allowed, but we got there literally five minutes before the closed. We were allowed a quick tour but I didn't have enough time to take any pics inside.

This is the statue of Grant's wife Julia. There are only a handful of statues of women across the country, and this is the only statue in the county of a first lady.
