Not entirely sure how useful this is atm. but I am keen to start drawing this type of thing, and thus must generate references.


Thee images were taken using my microscope at 400x, with image deconvolution to bring all three species onto the same focus plane, also some mild image enhancement, however colour is pretty much natural, apologies for lack of measurements- I'm un-calibrated atm.

Without running to a reference book, and settling at the genus level I'd say we're lookin at Spirogyra, Mougeotia? [sic], and what I know as 'Carpenter's Rule' algae- which mebbe Fragilaria
