But there are witness. :3 The Hyenas there, and if the only think the lizards are after is blood then they have 2 bodies which means they no longer need to do business with the slave traders. Though no set number of bodies have been given, I feel a ritual like that would follow equivalent exchange.
most lizards have scents that aren't easily noticed among other settings...like, ice dragons smell like their surroundings, fire dragons smell like sulfur...i'd imagine an earth dragon would smell like a jungle/forest, so...big, scary lizard probably didn't get noticed cause it smells like its surroundings. You ever smelled what its like in a forest or a jungle? WAY too many scents to seperate easily.
Lesson of the day, folks: Dont stare, just run!

I've been reading a while and I have a minor gripe...
You have a static group of keywords that you post with every page, even if the keywords have nothing to do with that page. For instance, "boar." I have a friend with a boar character and I often find pics to send him. But pages of Red Lantern with no boars in them (like this page) come up with that search term.
At the same time, you've got this page here with dragons and a naga on it, and they aren't in the keywords... You're missing potential dragon and naga fans.
Anyway, just thought I'd point that out. If people do a search for a specific thing and find Red Lantern, maybe they'll read, or maybe they'll look elsewhere for squirrels and stuff...

Oh, I know that. The problem I have is that since the dogs are "out of focus", there is a perceived depth of field within the image. Having objects (ie. the trees around and beyond the dogs) not within the desired focal range (ie. the giant scaly thing) that are sharper than they're supposed to be kinda messes with the eyes.
One of two things can happen next. ONE of those guys (or both) can get away as I don't think both would be caught by that, nor do I think both would be killed by it that fast. As it rushed them at least ONE OF THEM had to see, hear, or feel it coming.
OR, they both die and shit hits the fan and gets real real bad, real real quick. lol Hoping for the first. >.>;

So I'm betting the Lizard's ritual is really just formalized torture for information. As well as satisfying their innate blood-lust and wreaking revenge upon all furry beings, whom they see as insignificant and useless, fit only for slaves and food.
Also, I'd say that those two are about to be turned into fuzzy hamburger after they've spilled their guts (literally and figuratively) about their crews, ships, etc.
Awwwwww, SNAP! Amon and Admiral are both about to have a very bad time. And the poor little tiggeh will be stupid enough to misguidedly try to save them both and get them both trapped, 'cause he's naive, and waaaay too innocent to survive without causing casualties. Like "good job breaking it, hero."

If what I think is going to happen happens (The dragons attempt to kill the people they were trying to deal with), then it would personally destroy the purpose of the last few pages IMO, and mess with the balance and pacing of the novel. It's like if a robber politely asked a cashier for all the money in their register for a few minutes before pulling out a gun. That would also be severely underplaying the ability of the other party, which I feel is a major component of any fiction that attempts to have believable characters. Also, based on the dialogue the dogs weren't in standing association with the hyenas either, which makes me question why the dragons smirked over their demise/capture (I despise smirks for some reason.).
But yeah, just rambling off an assumption I guess.
