Santiago being graceful.
.
A quick sketch i'd done at some point that i finished a moment ago in a fever of rage directed at my art block. Messy, scribbly, dirty, but who cares. I did something, yay!
It rarely fails - the stuff that's done without finesse is often the most satisfying. Because control is restrictive and stifling... and my only real talent is that control.

I have a similar problem, though I suspect I have far less in the way of an artist's conceptual ability than you.
If I make a suggestion?
do a ton of time-limit gesture drawings, for use as bases for later revised and detailed drawings. You can impose some structure on the exercise by doing the gestures against a prepared and fixed set of environments and viewing angles. The sketches are NOT supposed to be finished works. They are not even supposed to be good. They are disposable overlays. Things to be looked at afterwards, to see if any have the makings of a finished work.

A most handsome gentle-male. I love the spontaneous feel of it. Very loose but yet you was complaining about control. To be truthful, the looseness added to the picture. Your skill is astonishing at times but perhaps you should think of loosing a bit. But only for prints that really demand it. It would look good, in a baroque picture.
