Rainfurrest - Keit
Another Rainfurrest commission was for this vixen with the stipulation that she is carrying a sword that is about 1-2 feet bigger than she is tall. I don't know if it's a very light sword or she's got muscles of steel, but she seems to carry it readily enough. Pose by request.
The rectangle background is an example of filling space with an object. It has no meaning at all, but helps offest the picture and the eye without catching or getting in the way of the details. Plus, it adds a bit of depth.

Cutey.
Real zweihanders are MUCH lighter than people think, but usually the hilt/pommel are much larger/heavier to help counterbalance the blade a bit. Rittersteel makes a museum replica quality flamberge six and a half feet long that only comes in at fourteen pounds, most were a bit shorter and weighed less (I had a well-balanced five-and-a-half foot replica (my own height) of a later cleadh-heamh-moore that came in at just under eight pounds and could move like a fine dancing partner).
Anything over twelve pounds is probably a parade or 'bearing' sword rather than a fighter...Which is to say that you damned well can fight properly with swords up to about twelve pounds, providing they are well balanced and you're fit and trained.
