I looked up the top 100 Belgian women's names and I picked Silke. Silke the cleaver. Her mate with the hammer will be ----the Crusher.

Depends if she's a Brabançon (there, a Flemish name would do) or an Ardennais (then, better take a name in French or Walloon.)

Thanks for the advice, I had chosen the Brabancon. I'll peruse flemish names and look a bit into the breeds history.

If she's a warrior, maybe Big Bertha. She seems as dangerous as that historical gun.

This is great so far! I love how distinctly European she looks. She's a war animal, and I can't wait to see the pair together.

One of the neatest things, I think, is that if you cover her from the neck down, she still looks feminine. Not easy to do with a horse and with a muscular character. I also love how you rendered her left leg (the one off the ground). The extra mass on the back of her thigh really makes her look like a heavy draft, and that her femur and cannon are parallel is an awesome detail that makes her look that much more realistic as a horse.

Really cool concept. Can't wait to see the finished piece!

Thanks! I'll be posting the refined and finished line drawing this afternoon then maybe work on sketching up him. I think I drew a horse once but not for sure. I like them though and will be drawing them more, especially if they prove popular. Gotta also figure out who they will be slicing and tenderizing. :)
