Anyone who keeps easily-used explosives handy on a rotating space-station, in a universe with no super-science like force fields, is already going to be a danger to themselves and everyone around them.
That said, the rapidly-developing culture of New Attica is heading in the direction of adult citizens preferring to wear a lethal weapon while in public, such as a knife or handgun. The basic design process of any robot that comes near a live person is going to assume the likely presence of such objects. An artist I know has made some sketches of a sequel to this sequence, and the discussions mentioned 'restraint foam dispensers', a derivative of a tool already present in the setting, tanks of compressed 'construction foam' that, when used, rapidly expands and hardens into a rock-like consistency.
