I am a advocate of multiverse theory as well as the anthropic principle. D : , but fortunately even if you don't wish to invoke many-universe to explain such different creatures I don't feel you need to. The universe is more than adequately large in volume and in diversity to allow all these such creatures to exist! But I am sure you are already aware of this. : D
