I always thought Sally could be a bit of a bitch...and this doodle is just an idea I had for Uni's background story. Like...she is a Princess of lady and her father gave her to sally's father to repay his debt to the acorn kingdom. In this, the proud princessess face off. (I made Sally's head HUGE...LOL XD)
-shrug - Just an idea. Besides, I needed a break from all the other stuff.
Princess Sally c/o Archie comics and Sega...whatever
Art c/o me

Cool. I think in the animated series, Sally always came off a little "high on her horse", actually. Well...I suppose it doesn't matter much anymore with the probable upcoming change they're making to Sally in the comic. I heard they wanted fan-input on the change, but I honestly don't believe they'll listen/care...and still make the changes anyways.
That era of the comics really doesn't exist for me. Penders screwed up the comics for many years and I can't forgive that. I really only care about issues up to #70 and from about #150 onwards. I never cared for the Sonic/Sally break-up, Mina the Mongoose...or them changing Evil Sonic to a green-furred wannabe named "Scourge". *shrug* I think even
akiriuu knows where I'm coming from on this part.

I know what you mean the comics are so screwed up, yes they have their characters but the story line is pure garbage not to mention the lazy eyes and the derp mouths the "artist" photoshop on. I really only liked the art style in that one issue where Mina saved Sally from being shot by Fang, I honestly hate the comic series to me they really are a let down of potential.
Yeah. There was this huge gap where Penders took over and redid the whole story and settings--including the art. He was the one who "mandated" the "anime-style" because it was popular.
I think I only began getting interested again, because I think Tracey Yardley! is a great new artist with some good potential. And Steven Butler came back...but...yeah--thanks to inkers and computers, the art isn't really the best of what we're seeing from artists.
And get rid of the humans, too. Besides Robotnik/Eggman...there's really no necessity for them. *laughs*

Eh not really then how can you explain the shadow maria thing, I don't mind having humans in the archie comics but some of the comics are crazy with having very little maybe 10 to the human population booms to 50 they should just stop making the comics all together. I feel really bad for the sonic artist who draw from the comics, looking at how bad the art is as from this site http://amomentofarchiesonic.tumblr.com/
Actually...there would probably be other ways to bring the game characters into the comic book universe itself, without completely "taking from the game". Maria wasn't a necessity to bring Shadow into the comics...and with both SA game adaptions they brought in a lot of unnecessary humans. To me...the game universe and comic universes are completely separate entities with nothing in common. That really was what was so great about the comic (and t.v. series it was based upon), it was "not the game" with new and different adventures.
Not that "Sonic X" is fabulous or anything, but even the Japanese understand the "not have to be perfect adaption" thing (since it's LOOSELY based on the games). *laughs* Let's not even go into that 2-part anime OAV from years back!!! *lol* Thanks for the link...that was very interesting stuff.

Lol no problem but what I meant was that the comics greatly ripped from the games and based stories about them which was insane in a simple term they made so many different stories just for a new comic book each week or month, Sega did bring Fang, Bean and Mighty with others into a game once but they were cut from sega for the likeliness of them being Sonic prototypes and tails. Fang was to violent since he was a gunslinger and so was his sister Nik. Bark was just a Knuckles but slower. If any thing I'm glad the games are different from the comics, they did a alright job on sonic X but it still wasn't great. The Ova was awesome though such nostalgia that movie brings lol
That's definitely true. I think I remember reading Archie Comic's "Sonic & Knuckles Special" and I'm like...what does this have to do with the game??? They're bad like that.
I've seen that arcade game, ONCE...I wish they'd have included it in one of the compilations, especially since they put "The Fighters" on one (but that may be because it was actually on the Saturn as well as in the arcades). There have been times when I keep thinking I'd like to do my own "adaption" from the end of the t.v. show and introduce game characters into Mobius in my own way...but I get too busy.
The best part about the OAV for me was Yasunori Matsumoto as Knuckles--I could not help hearing him as Gourry (from "The Slayers) the whole time watching it and it made me laugh.

Yeah. I get the feeling that the Japanese had an idea they wanted for "Sonic X" to make it a full series and needed enough characters for a long series...but, I bet it could've been different if it were a short series, like "Slayers" (13 episodes...rather than 26-52 episodes).
