Well here ya go boys and girls. I said i post up more as i finished em and well i finished em!
sadly I've had these guys actually done for like 2 maybe 3 weeks just been so damn busy i haven't been able to post up pics of em! but i figured i should give you guys a look at the next guy *nods* here is my sarge of the unit of 9 imposter dark angel tactical marines!
as you can see his wargear is a plas-pistol and a Chain axe mostly because i wanted to try out different wargear options with my squads. this is still the dark vengance model just converted to have a Khornate chainaxe instead of the power sword. I had to carefully snip, then shave down the sword before drilling and pinning the axe in place. lastly doing up some basic basic green stuffing to attach the hand and the axe shaft so it doesn't look to ... horrible.
for his Hydra mark i don't have a pic yet but he has a little hydra tattoo on the back of his head :P like the ravenwing biker head! *snickers* and apart from the blue for his markings i figured i really didn't need to do much more because the axe sticks out like a sore thumb saying "hey i might not be a dark angel!"
I don't know if you guys want to see the full shot of the rest of the squad so right now i'll just put up this guy tell me if your interested.

depending on the color of your base depends on what you want for the highlight. i tend to do extreme highlights as you see here. and for them i always make sure i have a nice tip on my fine detail water down the paint a little so its a bit easy to work with and then only do certain areas and i do try to keep them short and smaller so they don't block out the basecoat and stand out and look more cartoony. what color do you want to uplight? if i may know?
*shi nods* fair enough. for me when doing dark angels i start with orkhide shade as my base coat for the armour. then layer Dark Angels green on top before finishing with the goblin green extreme that you see on the model in the positions i have put it :) that might help ya a little. :/ wish i could do more but i think i need to paint with you in rl for that...
thank you my friend *bows to you* :) always wondered how the guys from BTP would think of all my random stuff i've made. sadly though right now whats alluding me in colors or how to is blood angels *growls as shi points mencingly at hir paints* i just don't have the colors with the paints to make good blood angels right now!
the picture really doesn't show it well mostly due to lighting and all but *shrugs* that and my camera is only a cell cam! so i take what i get but. i assure you they look awesome in rl :P
now as for the red how i do it is i give a basecoat of mephiston red, a wash of baal red then for the highlights i put on blood red then blazing orange simple as that :p
