well this is odd... I finally got these guys stripped down to the basecoat and half of them the basecoat is this RED! O.o how odd... the other two are normal black but these three in the front I soaked for like 3 days and scrubbed em and yet i had to literally take a hobby knife to em first to start pulling off the paint then return to the brush which revealed... this! the red. now the other odd part is that i guess Simple green is great at eating super glue!
I only state that because unless whoever owned these guys before used some pretty crappy glue (could be possible) i'm pretty sure while i'm scrubbing em alittle the arms aren't suppose to.. um.. fall off or the shoulder guards *laughs* but hey makes it easier for my repaint i suppose just wish the arms came off all of them not just a couple and not just one arm but both!... that and i don't understand why the sword is still that silver after soaking so long *shrugs*
Well as i said before i would show em off before continuing so here is my boys stripped down. this weekend i plan to get em sprayed up and begin the painting. :) ciao cya all then.

A hobby shop where I used to live sold Red, blue, green, brown, and yellow basecoats, the guy used to say that if anyone ever picked up the Yellow spray he'd start his own Imperial Fists army. It seemed like a safe bet because No one ever seemed to buy that colour, but then again yellow is an awful colour.
I went back there about a month ago to find several IF marines in the display case in the window... Someone bought the stuff!

Yeah, Simple Green will make super glue go 'rigid' and then it's really easy to dislodge. And man that's some odd base layering they did. Looks like you're almost ready though! Those Tart-pattern Termies... they're a great blend of mk4 and termie- and the stork bolters... god they bring back memories of my beakies-box from when I was getting started (GW used to seel 30 multi-part marines for about 35 dollars... such memories...)
oh i know... i know *sighs* still got some of the old glories down in my collection such as a unit of metal and classic plastic marines i use for sternguard. and of the old edition tanks i got 2 predators, 1 whirlwind and 1 rhino. :) ya and well didn't expect the whole arms popping off but now that it happened i wish the rest of em did!
