Actually, I do similar poses in yoga all the time. Very twisty. With the torso and head turned to such and extreme, the arm appearance of shortening is appropriate - especially with holding a staff (or stick) behind the back. Agreed, that at first appearance, the joints look kind of wonky. But like looking at a drawing of a cube, your eyes see one thing but then when you look at it again with different perspective, you can see how it might appear differently. Yes, I realize that's a very poor explanation but so be it. :)
I don't doubt the pose capability for yoga, seeing as how I do regular stretching myself. I was commenting that the arm just didn't seem to be the same plane while holding the staff as the other does. The naval aligning so closely to the left hip almost makes it seem like the right hip socket has broken, even taking a break and looking it over once more. It's likely more aesthetically off to me than potentially anatomically. I'm not trying to diss the piece or the character itself but offer my view for the pose.
You give a good description of what I see off with the image.
At first sight, given the lighting and the prominence of the tatoos only on the right side, I thought Falvie was trying to convey a sort of cubist image, with one side going forward and the other backward.
The problem is, I think, with the coloring of the joint (arm-forearm) more than the shoulder. If you cover the joint with your finger, you can sort of see the arm (the tatooed one) more in this twisted position Falvie describes. It probably looked fine in the lineart.

My attention was caught by her great bod, and a head that seemed to be pointing the wrong way. After more study, the bod is still great, but I realized that this 2D drawing needed more clues to give a clear picture to my eyes, and brain. Now I can look at her, and my eyes can see her head in either position, depending on what I want to see.
For me, a slight quirk of my own visual mechanism, but she's a real looker anyway.
I need a white tigress built like that, but with the appropriate tiger parts.

I agree there too o.o although I do think that it's completely possible to twist the body like that it simply doesn't look good as a drawn pic. She looks like a twist-macaroni. The coloration and everything rocks badass, it's wonderful, but it makes my brain to a flip-over due to the pose.
I LOVE YOU SO BIG CRITIQUE POST INBOUND!: Color and subject matter are gorgeous as always. Your palette and attention to detail in fur is impeccable. The most noticeable feature in your art is how you color eyes. They always make the figure pop - Bright, contrasting colors seem to illuminate the image. However, - The anatomy seems wonky in this piece. It took me a few seconds to actually realize I was looking at the front of the figure. It almost seems like each arm, the body, the legs, and the head are all separate figures in space. It's notable at the belt - it appears almost as if the torso and the legs are facing different directions. Look at the navel - follow it down. It is lined up with the left leg, giving the hips a broken appearance. The shoulders, wrists, and neck all seem to display this break. I think that if the character was drawn without the clothes and accessories, the flaws might be more apparent. To end high, another thing I love about your art is the BIG FLOOFY FUZZYNESS. The neck looks so cuddly!

i really love this piece :)
only thing that is a little confusing to me is the head. i cant really grasp it right but with all this convincing naturalistic style a slightly different headstructure could have worked even better.
but thats just me looking for the details. keep doing awesome work dear :)
