This picture documents everything I got done in the span of one year. I was hoping to have her finished before Further Confusion, but it ain't happening. For those of you just joining us: I've been working hard on my very first fursuit (scalesuit?) of my dragon character Mirepoix. I got the inspiration after FC 2012, and I've been working hard ever since. It was about an hour ago when I crashed and realized that I'm not finishing in time. But ya know, that's just OK.
Arranging everything in one picture has cheered me up significantly. I have learned so much in this past year that it is difficult to be so down on myself. I'm gonna list some stuff. Here we go. I've learned silicone mold making (for the horns, mask and scales), resin casting (mask, eyes), airbrushing (a year ago I had never even touched an airbrush!), sewing spandex with a serger, drafting patterns for bodysuits, making gloves (which impresses the shit out of people for some reason), foam carving, teeth sculpting, and so many things in between. A year! I learned all of this in a year! I am. Pretty awesome.
Oh, uh, the weird flipper feet were meant to replace footpaws. I was going to put orange scales on 'em then slip them into some ballet flats. They are just spandex socks stretched over duct tape feet. Aspect I am most proud of: I eliminated the uniboob. I have dragon cleavage. Yes.
One of the horns is crooked, and I'm not completely happy with the eyes. Since I have time now, I want to make some follow-me-eyes. I am also flip-flopping on the hair. I don't know if I hate it currently just because wigs are a pain in the ass to work with, or if I genuinely want to change the design. Probably the former. I'll get over it. I also made leggings, not pictured. They didn't fit very well and need fixing.
Hey! How's it going? I'm really sleepy.

Thanks! I'll take a better picture of the tail today; it looks hecka sweet with all the scales attached.
You're a kigurumi person, can I get an opinion? I was trying to make a smooth-cheeked moving jaw head, hence the seam down the middle. Unfortunately, getting the smooth cheeks required pulling the fabric reeeeeal tight, making the jaw mechanism just not worth it. (The effort required to open the mouth pulls the whole mask down my face.) Because of this, I'm going to re-make my mask as a static face, just like animegao kigus. Do you think I should change the expression at all? (more open mouth, closed mouth, etc). I'll try widening the irises, and lightening the blue, too.
