Friti the Steel Grey
A watercolor painting done with Crayola basic water colors on index card stock and drawn with a 2B pencil. All materials were picked up from Walmart for less than $10 total to demonstrate that you can use anything to create art. Don't get fixated on the cost of your supplies- make the most of what you can with what you have. This turned out pretty darn nifty using the cheapest and simplest Craylola water color set I could find.
The dragon was penciled, then colored wit hthe watercolors to get the steel grey tone I wanted. Scanned it in here to add the simple gradient reverse fills by sampling a couple of shades found in the dragon's coloring itself to help give it a blended and cohesive feel.
All of this as gift art for a good friend,
maiza and his fledgling dragon character on Alfandria named Friti.
