Does Luther have nightmares cause he regrets killing countless babies or because he had a close to death experience ?
Don't get me wrong, but from the last pages you've shown, I hate the Amurescans. I understand they are at war and I understand some of them are just mindless soldiers that follow orders and I even understand that in eras of war there can be shown no sympathy. But jesus, no. It's like seeing an invasion happening in real.
And seriously, you made me have tears @n@ I read it all from the start till now and I just understood that you pictured a whole children massacre after first pointing the joy of birth.
Thanks rukis and myena :( *goes to the sob corner*

Probably both.
I'm sure he and his explain it away with "they are animals" and "they've killed plenty of our own children" as they do in real life. But it wouldn't be Luther if he didn't over think it and when he over thinks, he over feels and so he drink till it don't matter.
There are no 'good' guys or 'bad' guys. I'm sure this could have all been avoided but nobody ever wants to communicate.
I'm not too thrilled about the Amurescan culture either.

we actually discussed that. . . but it's a ship's cabin. Almost everything is on the floor, or in strongboxes. You can't have a lot of ornamentation on a ship, unless it's nailed down. We really couldn't think what Luther would have on his wall. He's not the type to decorate, you know?
I actually figured that since it would be the admiral's cabin, and Luther's ship looks to be about the same size as a first-rate ship-of-the-line, that his cabin should look more like this: http://www.stvincent.ac.uk/Heritage.....ry/cabins.html
But of you look up the word "man" etymology, it has a mostly genetic background in terms of associating the origins of the word with the human species. Probably "huMAN" and "man" are symbiotically linked etymology-wise. Since these individuals are not human, the idea that they would use a similar etymology to identify themselves is not likely.
Well that's how I've been writing this comic, and it's side stories, for the entirety of the time I've been writing it, so. . . changing things now would be a tad odd.
Also, you can't really say what 'would' or 'wouldn't' be in an anthro world. You're talking about etymology in a human world. There's a point where comparison between real-world and fiction has very little value.

I look at it like this, whenever someone brings up language in a fictional setting.
The author is channelling an alternate universe. Language is probably different, yes. But Our Beloved Author can provide translation, not just of words, but of idiom. That is why he is OBA!

That rat is so handsome! Really spot on species wise <3 Lighting in this one is nice too.
I gotta say though, it's the only thing that always frustrates me every time I read Red Lantern. The panel layout is so jumpy and erratic. It's hard to predict where I need to have my eyes for the page to flow properly. Whether it's on purpose or not it really throws me how I have to figure it out first, then enjoy the story. Sorry for being/sounding nitpicky! ;^; I'm really enthralled with the story!

A very powerful page emotionally.
Fitzer is indeed an interesting character, even if it's just been a handful of panels over a few pages we've seen him, we see that -- through shared experiences -- the rat understands and shares at least one of Luther's nightmares. There has to be a fierce loyalty to the Admiral as well, Luther having made sure Fritzer was able to get out of the cliff raid alive.
Very well written, as always, Rukis, and thanks for including a rat in such a fine way.
Wonderful job by Myenia as well.
