I still don't know about this one, le-man.
It's cathartic and sure it's cute as hell, but MC's "a better person" excuse seems sort of out of left field.
So is SS's immediate turnaround: 'oh shit, I have blood on me form the guy I just punched! I totally didn't expect that!.'
Really?
Well I suppose having her commit assault or possibly murder on the poor guy would be just as cathartic, though for completely different reasons.
I don't know, something about this still irks me a bit.
I guess if they end up having kinky dickgirl sex it'll all tie up together more nicely.
Not that I'm looking forward to that, but hey, it makes sense at least.

Actually I think Faye's reaction was pretty natural given her personality. She was never the aggressive or violent type, as shown in the early part of the story where she basically labels herself a natural sub.
Me being someone who is generally nonviolent and nice I can attest to the emotional shock it can have when someone finally pushes you over the edge. I remember when I was younger I beat this kid up and ended up crying afterword so I can understand someone being frustrated and going off the edge only to come to their senses later and regret it.
Also it was pretty obvious that Faye was still in love with MC, even though he did hurt her if she really didn't care about him she wouldn't have gone out of her way to find him and tell him how he made her feel. As they say the opposite of love is not hate but apathy.
The only part I found a bit unnatural was MC's sudden burst of courage, he went from cowering in fear to supper assertive in very little time. Though I guess it could be said that he was always a dom from the start of this series but that contrasts with the way he acted when he met Faye. Chuck it up to the power of love I guess.

That's actually a very good counterargument and I respect the amount of thought that went into it.
I didn't even consider the sub/dom thing in part 1 (I honestly lost interest after the dickgirl shit showed up).
To it's still a bit unnatural but hey, it's an internet porn comic about a shapeshifter and her voyeur significant other: probably jsut best to get to the articles than linger on the footnotes.
Besides, even if we're able to accept the notion of shapeshifting in real life, an online-to-irl "relationship" would never fucking work out like this in real life.
Trust me, I've tried.

It could be argued that their positions and relationship is unique but in general you are right, in real life people don't come at each other with such brutal honesty or rational acceptance of said honesty, and that's before even considering it started as an online relationship but that's why we have fantasy in the first place not just for the crazy dickgirl sex (of which I am a fan) but also to see those types of relationships/scenarios that we know will never (or rarely) happen in real life.
My problem is, it's one thing if you're accepting the possibility of shapeshifters: that's called suspension of disbelief.
It's an entirely different thing if human characters act [for lack of better words] otherworldly or contrary to what one would expect a person to do in a given situation, for no other reason than just because: that's known as bad writing.

There are humans that do indeed act like this or at least in similar fashion, it's just not something that is common. If we were talking about a book or novel or even a movie I would probably agree that more character development would be necessary to reach this point of mutual acceptance but given the format I don't really have a problem larger emotional problems being condensed into quicker and easier resolutions. Of course we are assuming that everything is wrapped up with this scene, there could very well be a lot more development planed for future installments.

Because she flat out told him he is more than fine the way he is?
I might be of low self-esteem, but even I would know the situation if someone told me that.
Or what, did you expect. "Well okay I know you like me anyhow, but I still cant be with you because I'm a little girly man with low self-esteem, that means I have to always reject anything positive and then cry about it on my tumblr, like a 13 year old rejecting his step dad."

I didn't expect him to REJECT her... I just didn't expect him to suddenly be assertive about it.
But then again, it started out with them being in a sub-dom relationship with him being the dom, so its not totally out of character. Especially considering that people have characters rather then being a one dimensional caricature.
He could very well have assertive tendencies along with his insecurities and just needed that little extra push
