Mine Has a Red Button!
A late Valentines Day gift for the Rancourts, they requested their Star Trek characters together. Dr. Kern, who is a somewhat socially clumsy geeky scholarly type, and Mrr'Mrr, a caitian science officer. He's showing off his modified tricorder and comparing it to hers so he can have a means of starting up a conversation with her. Imagine someone comparing their latest greatest modified tablet to someone's standard iPhone and you can get a basic idea.
I based his tricorder off the classic design that were hauled around with shoulderstraps, and I have it a big red button. Every proper geekly device needs a big red button.

Hahaha, Mrr'Mrr... cute :D
And yeah, gotta have a big, red button! to quote from a story Pflarrian wrote: "Also, don't ever push the red button there on the side." "Oh? Why not? What does it do?" "Honestly? Aside from going 'bing' in a threatening manner, nothing. It's just there to draw attention. Mortals seem to like big shiny red buttons for some reason." ;)

When I saw the thumbnail I thought you were doing an original Ghostbusters and Star Trek crossover, so I had to read your caption. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself over the "Big, Red button" gag, and I really like the idea that even in the early 24th Century there'd still be "Geeky" types, always tinkering, tweaking, and exploring.
