Captain's Log - 8th Journal -Misc. Info / Come Aboard

General
Allow me to pluck free a moment from my overly engrossing schedule to scribble down a few things of hopefully reciprocated interest.
Apologies for not responding to each well-meaning comment that's slathered across my front page and submissions, but it's been a strenuous week. The crew is fussy as of late, and the cook and I have had to preoccupy them by hanging their meals from nets quite out of their reach upon the masts, worthy discipline for bothering me during 'Jack Time', which yes, is quite the double entendre and does support both meanings.
And I'm fairly positive you wanted me to elaborate on something like that. If not, so sorry, but that's your mental scar to cope with now. A man has needs, you see.
Distressing imagery aside, the crew's lack of proper morale has indeed caused me to ponder finding new recruits, and I am quite serious in that regard. Seeing as how I will be attending many future conventions , there will undoubtedly be times when the act of piracy and the general acts that coincide with it will be neccesary; while I am a significant catch among thieves, if not the most charismatic, a few hearty crew members to act as muscle, entertainment, or human shields can be quite helpful.
If you are indeed interested and dedicated-- and I reiterate and fully enforce the term 'dedicated'-- then reply to this enlightening box of text, and I will consider you for hire.
A dire note, you must be able to attend some of the conventions your beloved captain does for this to be sensible in the slightest. Also, this offer is available to both genders.
I'm an equal opportunity employer, savvy?
For your much needed reference, here are some positions to fill:
First Mate - Captain's right hand man; used for second opinions and such, takes over position of Captain if Captain meets untimely death ( unlikely in this case. )
Note: Typically, Joshamee Gibbs would fill this role on me ship, but I haven't seen the fellow in quite some time.
Quartermaster - Basically a co-captain; has more responsibilities than a first mate, who is merely there for advice. Maintains order; distributes supplies, food, and plunder; decider of punishments after Captain's decision is made; would often take over a second ship alongside the Captain's flagship, if one was taken.
Bo'sun/Boatswain- Oversees the crews work efficiency and morale , as well as maintenance
Gunner and Master Gunner- Leads groups manning the artillery, establishing safety of the crew during such. Master Gunner has more control over more groups.
Musicians- Just as the name implies. A much needed venue to eliminate boredom when on the ship.
Powder Monkeys/ Grunts/ Crewman- The majority of crew members who have no specific purpose as the ones above, but essentially make the ship what it is. Unfortunately, they have the lowest life expectancy, as they are always replaceable.
Wenches/Female Pirates - Not 'typical' crew members, as most women are considered bad luck on ships, not to mention the men harass them. But I confess, I have an unmitigated attraction to the female creature, and I find that having a few women around is actually a better investment than having several lunkheaded men. Besides, Hell hath no fury like a female pirate in the midst of menstruation.
There are also Surgeons, Cooks, and Carpenters...but those essentially speak for themselves.
Seems like I went on quite a tangent. In any case, even if you do not decide to accept my offer, you learned a little tidbit about pirates. How fortunate for you, aye?
Sincerely,
~Capt. Jack Sparrow
[ OOC Note: If you're really interested in this, please comment here, or note me to discuss things personally :) I plan for this to have all sorts of interesting perks. Again, you gotta participate in some conventions to join up. ]

And honestly, being a wench or musician would work too, if I wasn't planning on working the artist's alley / dealer's den for whatever con. Plus, I have a crew of three guys (
Also, I have a boatswain's whistle if one is needed ^^
And any help you and your friends contribute is welcome, the piratical garb also being a grand asset ( and neccesary ).
Also, the fact you have a boatswain's whistle both confounds me and piques my unbridled curiosity. How did you attain that?
If that not to your liking, I can play a female mainly because I am a female. Also I'll make a horrible body guard, 5' weighing 95 pounds but I do make an excellent meat shield as I am often used for. Although it will be a year before I can assist you.
You know you've really adapted far quicker to the future than I thought you would, Jack.
And once again, your fault!
It means I don't have to spend a lot of time trying to teach you anything. More time for adventures that way!
But also, be aware, that the ninja lad I've been attempting to train, unruly and disorganized and cocky as he is, *thwaps him with the fan again*, has been making improvements. I can not speak for his actions, only help him along his path. Its my duty as a good person you see, to teach those who need to be taught.
Still, I look forward to that hug that we agreed upon. Best offer I can give you, look for the lass in this dress:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/795861/ (and yes, thats the lass as well, just quite a few years ago)
Or, you could just betray him and join up with me, if only to pursue the act of displaying our foundation as per advertisement.
And yes, the hug is still coming, and the dress in that picture is astonishingly colorful. It makes me want to do things of the tropical nature.
like drink things out of coconuts with little umbrellas in them? I smell gift art >.> hahah I love drawing for friends.
I can't betray him or my clan. Once you're used to being something for so long, you can't just un... ninja yourself. I do agree on a NAP with you and whatever crew you form and if need be, I will ninja for hire. I make a very good wench/concubine/geisha depending on the need >.> I can keep your crew happy and warm without causing toooooo much womanly damage to their hearts ^.^
Ah, my capi-tan... I can't wait. Three months is so long, yet i"m sure with all the work due it will pass faster than sand between my fingers.
And yes, for every error, there will be a fan thwack. Perhaps I'll let you borrow it to see if it proves effective on your crew as well.
i just want to see
I'd rather her be part of my undead army than a pirate, though.
can she be both?
I love drinking though, I love running a absolute fucking muck, and you're better off dead in the end anyway.
I suppose undead pirates are acceptable, yes, as long as they're allied with me in some way or another. I tend to dislike having a rusty cutlass pinpointed near my face at an inopportune moment.
I will assist in the pirate related attire, most definitely, as the 'generic' pirate look bothers me beyond words.
As for your final statements, that's essentially the gist of this entire thing and you'd be perfect.
Now I just need to work on the pirate lingo and start those gears in my head to come up with some ideas of fun shit we can entertain ourselves with.
So far I have:
1. drink rum
2. drink more rum
3. think about drinking rum and then do it
4. repeat above steps 1-3
Maybe do a skit for Califur even? I know I always go to FC, Califur, and now FurFright.
...posting a journal entry soon relating to this.
But really, an undead army? Really? Really.
The best attack lady I could find, hm? What interesting anecdotal narrative does this stem from, pre tell?
As for your aforementioned 'payment' relating to bedding and food, I believe you already covered that portion with your mentioning of mice and laying about lazily. After all, can't cats sleep practically anywhere?
I jest though; you're more than welcome to join.
Yar!
And tell your men to stop firing confetti out of their cannons every time it's somebody's birthday on your ship. It's so incredibly distracting!
...And who is currently navigating your ship at the moment, Captain?
Aye! I'll sign aboard if you'll have me. I'm able-bodied and familair with naval warfare, including the operation and aiming of standard naval cannons, including the Carronade.
As my wife (The Witchiebun) mentioned, we'll try to make it to AC this year, though unfortunatly, we can't give any gaurentees, but if we are not able to make it this year, we will the next. AC is "our" con.
D.O.P.R
Just tell me what ya need.
It's a pirate's life, to be sure.
In all sincerity though, just meet up with me and whomever else is present at these conventions and we'll discuss things to do.
...and , of course, the original statement still applies.
*crosses fingers in hope*

I want in.
Didn't you get the memo? >:[
Allright, I've decided. I have a pirate outfit.
I'M IN.
just need an undead monkey and I'm set.
I'm going to have to return the favor, aren't I?
There's always a catch, good Captain
(HA PUNS!)
Ju see I am a sailor myself, except in the Navy (but shhhhh....they dont know im a piratic seadog as of yet.)
Id love to join ye on your crew but my current duties would conflict. I even made a considerably detailed Karnage pirate coat with pants, sash, and custom boots for a local con back then, still working on finding a suitable cutlass though.
And i wouldnt mind stepping down a rank or two for ol' Jack Sparrow.
The first mate or quartermaster would suit me but if ye want actual job experience, my actual real life naval duty would be a parallel to that of a Master Gunner or (FC- 'Fire Controlman' in modern terms).
under me are still the traditionally named 'Gunners Mates' (GM),
Also if no one asks is there any way for a female to go out for Master Gunner? Heavy artillery and swords swoon me something fierce. Nothing like a motherly wench with a cannonball in her hand.
You do have me a loyal follower, if not part of your crew, Captain. Though be it I do have one flaw. A current lack of a proper cash flow has me unavailable for conventions at this time.
Curse these modern times when piracy is under more strict laws. Bah.
Ah well, I suppose I've have to settle for keeping to the mainland. Though be it following you as more... different than the other... would be interesting. *Looking at her demon sword and Zabuza sword*
