(the costume makes a great reference, the only significant difference is the nose shape, which ideally is feline)

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Recommended reading, for accuracy
Species: Mixture: Felids (big & small), fox (red), bovids (cattle/sheep/goat), + other.
((Most general features are feline)).
(You can think of modgey as a species, mutant, hybrid, chimera, etc. it doesn't particularly matter to me).
Body: Typically "anthro". Slightly stocky build (somewhat short/thick) but reasonably undefined due to fur (consider the look of a healthy male animal).
Fur: Mainly short fur, in shades of natural reds. (Multi-tonal fur or subtle colour variation is encouraged to make the colour less flat).
((what do i mean by multi-tonal fur? Think of a wolfs coat, but pretend it's shades of red instead of grey & brown. Additionally, consider "agouti" colouration, with colour changes down each strand of hair)).
Hair: Head hair is short (a spiky/messy tuft on top). A darker shade of natural red than the main fur.
Whiskers: Optional. If present, they may be clear, black, and/or white.
Tail: Thick and fluffy. Mostly greyscale; see tail reference. The tail is somewhat long and very flexible.
Horns: Usually short and goat like, but can vary greatly in size and shape, or be omitted. (texture can be solid or velvety).
Legs: Usually digitigrade, with shire-horse-like leg fluff.
Feet/Hooves: Bull-like, with chunky cloven hooves (texture can be solid or velvety). Dew-claws are optional.
Spikes: Usually has three back spikes; where middle is largest and bottom is smallest. Texture can be solid or velvety. (sometimes drawn with larger and/or more spikes).
Hands: Cartoon paw-like style. usually with three fingers and one thumb. With paw pads (grey/black). Claws are optional and retractable (black, grey, or clear).
Skin: Grey-black.
Mouth/Innards: Slightly more purple version of normal mammalian colouring.
Nose: Dark grey-black and feline.
Sex: Cartoon male (male without visible genitals or nipples), or genderless / sexless. (male 'anatomical correctness' may be okay if strongly preferred (sheathed and animal-like)).

PERSONALITY: Generally laid back and friendly (can vary depending on the commission).
Clothing: Typically nude, but clothes may be worn (things like armour or furs are usually more likely than regular clothes, but it all depends on the piece and it's theme. Feel free to ask (feminine or revealing clothes are highly unlikely).
Diet: Omnivore (bear-like). Particularly likes sugary foods, such as chocolate and fresh fruit. Favourite food is cherries and ghost meat. Also greatly enjoys malt vinegar.
Environment: Prefers woodland and wilderness. Not a fan of cities, crowds, heat, or noise. Likes water (can swim).
Favourite Colour: Green.
Pronouns: No strong preference, but usually he or they.
Sexuality: I don't tend to consider Modgey a sexual being, but he'd probably be straight.

OTHER:
Voice: Typically mute. May make animal sounds (eg. growl, purr). (If a human voice is required, it would most likely be a British male voice. I don't really have an example though). Might use some simple sign language.
Scent: Not odiferous. Outdoorsy, with a slight spicy note, and a hint of dust.
Senses: All senses are similar to humans, but slightly heightened, so may dislike extremes.

ARTISTIC FREEDOM: The above description is for clarification, but the design is somewhat malleable. in many cases you are free to experiment, whether it's small alterations to better fit your style and preference, changes to fit a time or scene, enhanced beastliness or mutations, or a change of form/species altogether (including real animals, mythical creatures, and even fictional ones from games etc).
(the exception being if I've asked for something specific in a commission, but still feel free to ask or suggest something during the commission process).
