Custom tattoo design, orignally conceptualized by
warszawascream, and refined & applied by yours truly. This is the same design seen in "Arsenal" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1629808/
This photo was taken minutes after the tattoo was done. Warzy will post a bigger, better photo of this when it's all healed and stuff. Her testimonial can be read here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/523796/
Please Enjoy.

Yeah, that's just basically how they look though. Some tattoo machines are more ornamental, but the ones I have are pretty simple and plain. These are the two models I'm holding:

The reason they're so bare-bones is because you want them to be lightweight. Eye-pleasing paneling, heck, sometimes even PAINT can weigh them down considerably, and you don't want to have to be struggling to hold the back-end of this thing up with one hand, 'cause then your hand may tremble from the strain... and of course, you don't want a trembling hand when drawing a permanent picture in someone's flesh.
All the frame is, is basically something to mount the coils (the two cylinders) to. It's a glorified doorbell. the coils get powered and magnetized, and move the rear armature bar back and forth really fast. The tip of the bar is where the end of the needle rod goes, and that travels all the way forward, through the ggeip/tube (the part you hold onto like a pencil) and out the tip. That's the business end of it. And all this has to be preferably 6 ounces or so, for nominal comfort. ^_^
Glad you like her tat. As for mine, no, it's not glow ink (yet); only bright green ink. I plan on getting a coat of UV green put on later in time.

YEAAAAAAA-YAAHHH ROCK OUT WITH YOUR CO-... er... TAT OUT!
Thanks so much man, you do killer work (if I didn't say that like eight million times already) - as soon as she's all healed up I'll get some good detail shots to show off
NOW we just gotta get "RAPTORY" tattooed across my big ol' belly in "THUGLIFE" letters and I'll be friggin raptory raptor raptor. FOR REAL!

All right, I got it: we park mine and E's cars next to one another in front of the dunes at Jones or Robert Moses Beach (gotta get those custom plates in the shot too), then we can all stand between the two and pose all thug like you always see pictures of kids doing with their ricers.
My God, it will be glorious.

Yes, you mentioned that in the last entry I was wearing it in :) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1204688/
Aw man, don't even think about it like a needle! Fossil can give you the actual scientific details but from the standpoint of the one getting inked- it's more like you're being scratched than you are being "poked" or "injected"; the needle tip just barely breaks the skin, and only deep enough to get the ink in there. (For comparison, your run-of-the-mill cat scratch is deeper.)
Anything needle-related irks me, no matter how I think of it. I thought it would go kinda deep since it injects into the skin but hmm. It doesn't sound too bad. Needles don't bother me.. I just sometimes get skirmish like mad. The last time it hurt was when they had to go in and move around IN my skin to find a vein >_>
Dude I SO KNOW that feeling :( There's only one vein in my body you can tap unless you're a REAL expert; the one in my upper left elbow crevice. Now, needles don't freak me out at all - but when the nurse going to draw my blood told (in the WRONG ARM) me to "turn away", it naturally made me go "Ummm... wut?" "We have to adjust the needle." It felt like a half hour. I'm sure it was only five minutes but oh my GOD. They finally gave up and went for the vein I told them to in the FIRST place, left me with a nasty bruise too.
Trust me - tattooes ain't NOTHING like that at all. I've got four of them now and they've all been real pleasant experiences (ESPECIALLY when compared to medical needles!) I'd almost go as far as saying that they need to rename the tattoo instrument from "needle" to something else, because it's just nothing like what you'd associate a needle with.

That is awesome. My brother is thinking about getting me a tattoo kit but I have absolutely no confidence in my future abilities. Like... what do you do in order to gauge how well you'd do as a tattoo artist? What could you do to practice without scarring someone for life? I figured I'd ask here instead of the people I already know that does this since... well... they're gutter as hell and they always have some long and depressing backstory like I LEARNED HOW TO DO THIS IN PRISON SO I AM A MASTER AT SHADING WITH A SINGLE NEEDLE and I think want to pick up any bad habits from them.
