Hmm, only scary book I read was Fear Street: Revenge of the Shadow People. As I said, the only scary book I ever read and it was for a sixth grade assignment. As for why I chose it, I was a crybaby and easy to scare when I was younger. Got teased a lot for it. I read it to prove I could be brave, actually enjoyed it. Still got paranoid of the dark for the whole assignment but I read through it.
