Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - First 6 hours

Some of this may be nitpicky bullshit, but goddamn does it help make this game a chore to get through.
Why do you have to go to an inn to get bonus experience to then level up? Just give me all of the experience from battles, etc.
Why do I have to view the Affinity Chart to have the effects I've learned actually take effect?
Why do I have to place items in a pouch to get the effects from them? Can't I just eat the item to get the effect?
Why do I have to play a pointless mini-game to get ether to upgrade one specific character? Is it just cause her "Master" is a fucking weeb?
Why is the English voice acting so bland? Why does Nia sound like a 40 year-old?
Why are they Welsh?
Why is the targeting so random? I could look at a monster right in front of me, but it locks on to one to the left, or right.
Why is your movement so slow during battles? I get the game's excuse is you have to be near your Blade for a certain amount of time to gain speed, but why is that? Without your Blade, why are you just perpetually in slow motion?
Why is it so hard to tell enemy indicators in battle?
Why are the waypoints so hard to follow?
Why is the movement so floaty in certain spots, and clean in others?
Why do I have to refine aux cores to actually use them? Can't they just be refined from the get go or just useable in general? It just creates another unecessary step.
Why is the story going nowhere 20 hours in? (Roommate is playing too)
Why are the randomly generated Blades so unappealing? I get there are rare Blades to obtain, but at least give them an interesting design.
Why are there different artists for characters/Blades? Wouldn't it have been cheaper or more appealing to the eye to keep a consistent art style?
How come I can be easily beaten by a monster that's level 10 when I'm level 15?
Why are the animations during cutscenes so uneven and blocky?
Why is X not the menu button? Especially on the Switch controllers it's more or less the Triangle button on a PS4 controller. Most RPG's seem to use it.
How come in the Affinity Chart you can't just scroll to the next level? You have to his L or R to go in and out respectively. Why add this extra step?
Why can't I just run away from battles when I'm being overwhelmed? Why do I have to hit a 3-button combination to run away from battles?
