What Pixar's Cars Could Learn From The Brave Little Toast...

Completely agree, I always thought Pixar needed to put Cars in our universe, like Toy Story did. This guy hit the nail on the head. What a wasted opportunity. Guess, while very much more sexual, I kinda try to explore that dynamic myself in my universe. <XD

I would love a franchize about sentient, living machines coexisting with humans, maybe not just cars, but other vehicles and machines as well (like planes or computers!).
Cars could have been SO MUCH BETTER if they did what this essay said. The story of cars is alright, but did it REALLY need to be living cars? It just doesn't work when you look at it, you could have made McQueen a human and the story would make more sense.
I actually had a plot in my head for a movie once. Loosely it was about a guy that works at a used car lot that mistreats the cars there including his own especially, an over the counter asshole. One of the cars in the lot studies occult magic though (lol I had the idea it was some 40s era Mercedes imported from Germany, and the reason he knows occult magic is because he was a Nazi SS officers car when he was new. lol) this particular car is actually the final villain in the film but has kinda justifiable reasons for what he wants to do, having suffered abuse at the hands of humans he plots to do some gigantic spell that will turn all humans into cars and cars into humans (imagine that lol). But when he finally tires of the guy at the lot he decides to test the spell on him alone. So he casts it but nothing happens, figures it didn't work.
So later the guy gets in his car, a little 60s era blue beetle all dented up and old, and he drives off for home. On the way home though going through the woods the beetle breaks down. The guy gets pissed off of course, you know beats the dash gets out and kicks it's tire and storms off to walk the rest of the way. But on the way through some thorn bushes he pricks himself, when he goes to inspect his finger he notices his blood is black, it's oil! This kicks off the transformation scene, should make the transformation people happy. ;) and he turns into a car.
Now as a car he can see the other cars around him as alive and talk to them. Of course he goes back to his Beetle and this is when he realizes she's a girl car and what he did upset her enough that she's crying. From here it's pretty loose with details, I imagine it'd follow pretty traditional plot stuff. He cheers her up, he wants to get somewhere to get turned back so she suggests they go back to the dealership because the occult car is there.. not realizing he was the one that did it ect ect? Maybe he hides the fact that he's her owner from her for awhile and it's one of those liar revealed plotlines. Ect.
Anyway I found this appliance short awhile back you'd probably enjoy if you need your human and machines fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7k2MkVYLDE
BTW.. I think I've said this before but your avatar makes me think of Tom Petty in the runnin' down a dream music video lol.
Hmmm I don't think so, but thanks! Thought twas based off of Take on Me by Aha XD
Not really, I don't think it would really work very well as a comic and/or dunno if I could put in the kind of work that a comic like that would take lol.
I hope your day is going well.
