Inquiry- An auction or fundraiser for personal causes?
Hey,
I don't post here often. But I have been in a bad financial situation for awhile, and though I think I can take care of myself and get through things even in some debt, I am personally concerned about one of my cats. She has always been small and had problems with her digestion, but recently she has seemed to not be gaining weight or even losing it, along with clear pain regarding digestion and incontinence. She is only a little over a year old. I'm really worried and while I can spare costs for good food I think she really needs to see a vet. I have taken her to two vets about 6 months ago but they brushed it off as diarrhea being normal for kittens/young cats. I think it is something else. Her littermate I also have adopted has not had digestive issues, and in parallel, bulked up on muscle, size, and has healthy weight.
I'm making this to ask about means of fundraising a trip/needed follow-up from a vet. I have pet insurance, so that could reduce costs for me and potentially any donors, and I will first inquire about insurance quotes and vet quotes. (The vet does not file my insurance, I personally have to make any claims) I'm thinking about auctioning icon commissions and maybe 3/4ths and misc illustrations (though I feel I have less examples of the latter two) and maybe setting up a general fund if people would rather just leave a buck or so.
I don't have experience in such a thing. I would typically be open to near flat-rate commissions for myself, but I want to see if there is more I can do for my cat. I want to know if anyone has an opinion or knows of someone who has done such a thing, or can give any advice.

Kho-fi is supposed to be good for small donations. GoFundMe for bigger ones. Haven't used 'em myself, so I have no advice beyond pointing at 'em.
