Like seriously LOL

I have been trying to get a PS5 for... well since they came out but its like every time i hear they are out on sale or get a notification pre orders are up...they are all sold out already!

So I have been stalking ebay and like non of them stay anywhere near the retail price... $600s are a lucky find but they tend to be between $700-$900 with varying shipping rates...

this console has been out for what, 2 years?! I swear to god it was not this hard to get a ps4....

Sorry for the rant its just...wtf lol

At this rate im gonna have to sell my soul to get one QAQ

Same why GPUs are inflates up to 3 times but at least 2 times 6800xts are 599MSRP but sell for 1300.

You can only make so many chips during a pandemic and said pandemic even increases demand

Don't forget about the dick-less lowlives with bots programmed to keep buying up all the stock as soon as they go up, to resell at two-three times their RSP.

It's a combination of microchips being in short supply because of the pandemic, and scalpers armed with bots programmed to automatically buy out stock when stores DO get them so they can resell them for two or three times the retail price.

From what I've heard there won't be enough PS5s available for everyone until late 2022.

Isn't it illegal to resell an item for more than it's RSP within a certain amount of time of it's release? Sony and M$ are gonna have to write to big people to get involved in this. All they gotta do is get online retail sites to take down all these listings, and the scalpers will have a bunch of consoles they can't sell online.

Depends on the state, most places it's only illegal to sell items that are essential for higher prices. Things like pc, consoles etc are supply and demand so scalping them is fine. Just like people do with collectibles. Nothing will be done about it unfortunately.

First of all it's almost been out a year but not yet, second you have scalpers sending out bots to buy up PS5s the very second any go on sale.

Sorry to hear. I thought supply would catch up to demand by now.

I managed to beat the bots when the went up for pre-order on Best Buy and picked one up on launch day.

If it's anything like Aus, aside from the semi-conductor shortage limiting production, a lot of places are also taking pre-orders with deposits.

So when stock comes in, a lot of the stock is going to filling existing preorders that may be from months ago and not a lot of a shipment actually makes it to the website or in store for other buyers.

It took me roughly two weeks to get one from my will to buy one til delivery.

But i had to sit and wait for it to be available because they are sold out within minutes.

Here is how i did it:
Enabled Notifications on Twitter for PS5-Bots and were following PS5 Availability Groups on Discord.
Checked out which Stores tend to have some in frequent intervals and created an account / logged in before.
When Notification hits, be quick and get trough sale. The less Information you need to enter the better.

Scalpers are the big reason why. They buy all the product within the vicinity, then resell it for far more than should ever be allowed because they are the only person who's got the product. It's absurdly bullshit and frustrating cause it drives the price of everything up so high.
