I had a samsung galaxy a2016 which had a very nice camara
Huawei has some nice phones with good camara’s but are a bit expensive.
It really depends what you are going to do with your phone

a 2016 phone probably will be too old. It has to have a higher os, and be capable of being upgraded for the next year or so at the very least. I really just want to be able to take good photos of my dog :)

I always buy Huawei.

They have better build quality that the mainstream LG, Samsung and Nokia phones, and never had a problem with one.

I'll do some digging, but as point of reference, are you looking for a particular megapixel or image quality? Anything to help me narrow focus beyond price.

As I found out with my current phone, bigger megapixel doesn't mean a better image. My old Optimus's cam kicked butt, but this current K20? it's crap when it comes to it's ability to produce a crisp image. Image quality is what I'm aiming for.

Alright, did some digging and from what I found, your best 3 options appear to be the following: Samsung Galaxy S10e, Motorola Moto G8 Power, Google Pixel 3a.

Would probably be best, if possible, to go into a store and get hands on with demo units and see which one does it for you.

yeah I've gone around town but no one has working demos. I hate this town. We don't have any good shops for tech. I may have to try to find a way to visit a bestbuy. Thanks for looking into this. the pixel was on my radar, and i'll go back to check which of the moto g powers I saw reviewed. the a103 tho is supposed to have a terrible cam tho?

This is the 8th gen (2020) G Power camera

If you do go with a g power the battery life is ridiculous good.

Just thinking, and I don't want to be "that guy" but... Is there a reason why it has to be a phone camera?

Wouldn't it be better, and much cheaper, to just buy a dedicated camera instead of a camera phone?

Or maybe get a Facebook Portal if it's for video calls?

I have to upgrade my phone due to the os. It's not for video calls. I also can't carry a camera and a phone around with me at all times. Money is also an issue.

Hmm, it's a bugger that they don't carry Huawei phones too. This global chip shortage is really affecting phone prices right now and some places are marking-up stuff at crazy levels... so it's making finding good deals really difficult atm.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G should fit all your requirements, though it's slightly higher than $200. If it's too much I'd say look at the Motorola Moto G Pure.
