I don't celebrate my birthday any more, and haven't for years. I acknowledge my age, sure, but I want--and insist on--no party, no cards, no gifts, no cake, no "happy birthday", no recognition of it whatsoever. After 10+ years of that I have yet to actually get what I want because there is always someone in the family who ignores my wishes.
