Once again she could feel and move her limbs. Once again she could think with clarity. Once again, she knew words and could assemble them, linearly. Once again, she was able to feel the beating of her own heart.

She was alive. She was still...alive. Though trapped behind the walls of a beautiful cage, though having had her wings clipped, though the sky was no longer the limit, she was still, alive.

The healer must have peered into her soul again, because a warm, soft beautiful smile adorned their face, almost as though they knew they had set her troubled spirit at ease and for the first time in weeks, a beautiful, bright, honest smile was able to illuminate Avalon's lovely face.
