Tonsil-free!

The doctor had warned me that I was going to be in for a painful recovery, so I THOUGHT I was prepared...but...no...I was not. It was two weeks of constant pain, hunger, and exhaustion. It was a challenge I don't think I could have ever really properly prepared for.
...but, with all of that being said, in a weird way, I am grateful for the experience. It REALLY made me appreciate simple things that I take for granted, like being able to talk and eat. Some people can't do those things and others can't do those things on their own. But, I'm blessed that I can do both. Even so, I'm VERY glad that all of it is over. The doctor told me that it was good that I had them removed, though. I used to have chronic sore throats and other things, and when he took my tonsils out, he told me that they were pretty "ratty". They were unquestionably the cause of my constant sickness, so I'm looking forward to a better quality of life, moving forward.
I am so relieve that I can talk and eat without pain, again! My energy is back and I can get back to doing regular things. I hadn't really been doing anything like writing or drawing, but I picked up my tablet and started to get back into it. I'm still largely uninspired, but I hope something sparks...something in me soon. I guess we'll see. Anyway, I'll be around a bit more.
OH! If you want to follow me on BlueSky, I post random things over there, too.

Thanks! I'm feeling great now. Everything should be back to normal in a few me days, but I'm not in pain anymore, thankfully.
Years ago I had a minor tooth infection and the dentist gave me an antibiotic called Cephalexin. Not only did it clear up the infection, I never had a recurrence of the ear infection I had twice a year for twenty years. Still gone; it never came back.
(* sigh! *)
I'm glad to hear you're doing better, now! The only actual surgery I can think of that I've had was my gall bladder. I was on so many pain killers that I didn't go to the bathroom for a week solid, which the doctor told me might happen (all that prescription-strength stuff in my system might do that. I actually got a call from the doc about six days in telling me that if I didn't go that weekend I'd have to come back in so they could flush my system, but thankfully I went that Sat, so I was fine).
