Transformers 2
Sammy came home today with Transformers 2 from our local Red Box and asked whether I wanted to watch it after dinner. I naively said, "Sure". All I can say is give me three hours of my life back... While the movie only lasted for two hours, I want another back as interest... Sammy kept saying, "The Pyramids aren't anywhere near Jordan! The Red Sea isn't near the Pyramids! Hey, that's Petra! That's nowhere near the Pyramids either!" while rolling her eyes and OMG-ing. She was much more fun to watch than the movie (then, she usually is...).
Okay, interactive journal time... What do you think was my favorite part of the movie? Was it:
A. Optimus Prime kicking The Fallen's steel butt in the climactic battle scene?
B. Sam's over-the-top Mom getting baked on organic brownies? or
C. Megan Fox and her bouncing, half-exposed, glistening-with-sweat boobs running across the desert?
Happy guessing! >^.^<

Yes, the movie (and it's near three hour run time) was horrible. Constant action may please the teenagers who just want explosions, but the rest of the world wants some actual substance to the action.

In any case, I'll guess option D: Turning it off.
Good guess but I was looking more at C:... Literally...
I bought the Blu-ray edition yesterday and I can tell how fake most of the bots are 'cause some didn't properly displace sand.

I'm not a big fan of overly CGed movies in general, like I didn't care for Beowulf or even 300 for that matter. Personal taste I guess.

Transformers is not a talkie medium. The only reason it wasn't more minutes of giant androids tearing apart giant androids in the G1 cartoon series was because animation costs money, and censorship. I for one am very impressed with the character designs and the fact they bothered to make transformation more complex than pieces of toys adjusting into hidden humanoid forms.
The first movie was okay. Except the first movie wasn't The Transformers; It was "Shia LaBeauf gets the leading role, The Movie! Guest starring the Transformers." If there's one thing from the old series that I wish they'd kept, it was that the humans are -supporting characters,- not stars. Maybe we would've had more if The Transformers weren't relegated to props in LaBoof's career.
For what it was, a summer blockbuster bringing back the nostalgia of an 80's youth, it was a magnificent action and explosion film.
Asides. They were probably fighting in Carbombya. ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbombya
I was told by someone at work that the director rewrote the original screenplay. Without going into the details as relayed by my co-worker, the original seemed a lot more interesting, with the robots actually doing the acting and the humans taking a backseat. I think that the producers probably didn't feel comfortable unless they had some A- list actors out there emoting for the camera, so they chucked the original screenplay and reduced the robots to caricatures. Oh well...

My answer would be C.) Half of my interest came from watching Megan run around in those white pants...even though in actuallity she has what I call "Jessica Alba" syndrome. She's a girl whose been told all her life that she's hot (which I actually don't think Jessican Alba really is) and she developed a chip on her shoulder from it. Megan Fox is a bit of a jerk and it makes it hard to be attracted to her.
You're right, C: is what I was most interested in... Got me smacked a couple times too... I frankly don't know a thing about Megan Fox, but, small boobs or not, she was making that top look good!

AS for The Movie it Lack the depth and build up that the first had...SOME ADULTS want their childhood idols to evolve ...TRANsFORMERS - A Good Movie for all...
TRANSFORMERS 2 - ROBO-PORN for the kiddies...
I do wonder how they got the military to commit all the hardware for the film, or was that all CGI too?
Thanx BH!

Bro
Sure, ROTF wasn't Oscar-caliber, and maybe Michael Bay Did Not Do The Research on Jordan and Egypt...
WHO CARES!?!? Recite the MST3K Mantra a few times, and enjoy what we all came to see- GIANT ROBOTS THRASHING THE TAR OUT OF EACH OTHER. AUTOBOTS WAGING THEIR BATTLE AGAINST THE EVIL FORCES OF THE DECEPTICONS.
Oy... you organics and your nit-picking. I saw this film in theaters twice, and am now enjoying the DVD experience... me, I GOT what I payed for. Giant robots thrashing the tar out of each other.
No offense meant and I apologize for any transgression. I can say that I certainly enjoyed the first Transformer movie more than this one. I did however certainly enjoy C above... Sorry! I certainly don't want to piss off a mechanical that can tear the limbs off me!

Knowing your reputation, I'd have to guess that Megan Fox's boobs (boobs?) being your favorite part. Personally, mine would have probably been the Coming Attractions, providing a variety of films I'd rather being watching than this one. I guess it won't be long before somebody from my family brings home this movie, too. Oy ...
As for my choice for "Best Actresses in an Unsupported Role", you're right, it was C:. Megan Fox it's true doesn't have the huge tracts of land that usually attract my attention, but they were pretty well displayed and everything was in motion during the slow-motion running scenes... It was enough for Sammy to notice me noticing and smack me a couple times. If someone does bring it home, those scenes were almost worth it...
Thanx!
