Depends how much you want to sell your skill really.
I don't do commisions myself because as soon as the idea of money is involved my desire to draw vanishes completely.

I would say draw a few YCHs and just pick a few random people of different types of art as a "Trial" don't even mention it to them or anything.
Once you get into the hang of things then start posting paid "YCHs" that way you can see if people would like it.
It also depends on how much effort you put into drawing said YCHs too... And how much you value your own art.

Honestly, what I'd recommend is to go through YCH just before trying comms, this way it can help you setting up a price for your comms depending on how people value the YCH

But honestly i'm not too sure, i'm not an artist myself but I thought about being one and doing some comms too somedays, and it's what I wanted to try first sooo

Well for me drawing is a hobby, i just like to do it.

I think starting with smaller commissions is a good idea. Open a few slots at a time and have a few variables (sketch, flat color, full shading, half body and full body) and see how it goes.
YCH can be great but also very limiting since not everyone may be interested in a pre determined pose. It can save you time but just know that if you are only just getting started you may see a few less customers to begin.
I have seen some artists do "batches" of YCH poses at a time. Doing various YCH poses can be better than only one YCH at a time if your goal is to get lots of customers.

Yeah, I guess you're right, ych may be a bit limited.

Sorry this is late. I still really appreciate the work you did for me on my one character concept. You were very receptive and friendly so I think you've got a good attitude with a customer, but if your unsure maybe start with YCHs, I'd sure be interested.
If your uncertain about prices to ask for, maybe go for smaller priced YCHs to start but limited slots each. First come first serve.

Perhaps a trial run of announcing one or two slots for commissions could work? It's important as hell to find the right balance between work and rest, not to mention time to explore your own creativity. Though needless to say? I'd happily buy such a slot to bring an idea or two to life through your talent ^^
