There doesn't seem to be a consistent answer when it comes to the difference between dom and top or sub and bottom. As an example; What would someone who likes to be ridden in cowgirl position be called? It's not dom because they want to be on bottom for the position and its not top because they want their partner to be riding on top of them. Google gives inconsistent answers to this, since it only ties it to BDSM.
Submissive Top.
In a nutshell, the Top/Bottom defines who giving/receiving.
Sub/Dom defines who takes the passive or active role.
There's a reason cowgirl position is considered a power bottom position, despite being "on top".
The definition you give here is the one that makes the most sense to me. Since I am a top, but like to sometimes indulge in subbing to a power bottom; this is where the conversation of confusion begin.
...Yeah, I'm inexperienced. >.>'
