A Message from Life of Boris

This is one heck of a powerful video from one of the most well known Russian YouTubers on the internet. This is a person who took pride in their country, who celebrated the weird, bizarre, and beautifully wonderful aspects of Russian and gopnik culture. Boris promoted the cultural significance of Russ food and culture, of its people, and brought a lot of Russian culture forward through comedy and more, but you can hear the pain in his voice.
It's important to hear the words of those who fly the Russian flag with pride suddenly have trouble reflecting on their country and legacy.
Stay cheeki breeki, Ukraine. We're with you. You're showing the world what patriotism and sacrifice truly is.

This video is mighty in it's own right.
Whenever I read your "Stay cheeki breeki, Ukraine", a smile comes up on my face, because it distracts me from the bad things for a moment, and I hope that's the same for others as well. I hope this all goes well and comes to an end eventually.
Putin is a madman and I think a lot more people in Russia and Belarus agree than disagree.
Don't let hate driven by the power-hungry lead you to more hate. That's just working in their favor. Resist it like you would resist an invader. Remember that deep down we're all human and a lot more alike than we are different.
There's many examples around the world (including but not limited to Russia, Belarus and even the United States) showing that elections can be set up in a way that they're legal, but the power is not in the electorate's hands. Gerrymandering, ballot stuffing, fake parties, outright cheating, the list goes on.
> Even if you avoid politics by doing so you're still sending a message. Everyone is responsible to some degree or another.
I don't know the youtuber in question, but they might just be merely non-political on their channel, while still a diligent democrat in the poll booths. As is the case with many of the people online who aren't engaging in the daily politics grinder. I'd suppose the amount of people who actually do avoid politics fully and try to plug their ears etc. are just a small fraction.
In the case of the US while there's plenty about its elections to criticize for the most part the majority of US elections (at least in recent history-say going back to the 70's when technology improved enough to where we could keep track of such things) are fair. https://www.brennancenter.org/sites.....Fraud_Myth.pdf
Where things break down is the campaign process and that has more to do with how the candidates are promoted, where, and by who.
As far as my statement I was responding to people saying the Russian people aren't responsible. While I do NOT feel we should feel antipathy towards them (and while I'm glad to see people protesting) you can't say that the people don't bear at least some of the responsibility. That's why this whole 'sanctions just punish the people' thing is part of the point of doing it.
If you don't want your government to get sanctioned don't support a power-crazy demagogue.
1: Your link actually goes to show that those laws are aimed at electoral manipulation and not at preventing fraud.
To hear him, a true advocate for Russian and Slavic culture, sounding so dejected, so hopeless and talking about how doing that thing no longer brings him joy...
It's heartbreaking.
But it's sad to hear him heartbroken that his pride in his country has been damaged, and now that he almost feels ashamed of being who he is. I feel so bad for him.

Can't help but admire the Ukrainians right now <3
Their resistance against Russian's attack is fierce!
All I can do is hope the best for Ukraine, and Putin finally stops this madness. Just remember, guys. There's a good many russians who aren't wanting to be a part of this war. Don't outcast them for something their government is doing despite their protests. They're human, just like the rest of us. It's the ones at the top who're doing this.
I wish you all well, stay safe.
Stay safe, Ukraine...
Putin must go down... Ò~Ó
That powerhungry tyrant messed with the wrong people! Us and his own!
It is looking like Russia wants to go full tilt on this shit. I just hope Boris is already outside of Russia or not within drafting age.
Russian conscripts reportedly forced to sign military contracts, losing contact with family.

Many Russians already there, honestly thought this was all some joint training exercise and didn't know anything going on till Ukrainians started shooting back. There are quite a few stories and videos of Russians that are abandoning tanks and apcs and entire troop transports and surrendering to the Ukrainians. So it seems even many in the Russian military that aren't idiots or psychos are against this shit as well.
Vladolf Putler got cocky and thought this would all be done in a few days. Meanwhile the absolute brass balls of the Ukrainians are pissing off Putin to no end.
Hearing his voice. It’s heartbreaking
….
Boris, stay safe.
