A job that makes you unhappy sucks balls.
I walked away from a 100k a year job with great bennies becuase I had 0 life and hated going to work everyday for 2 years.

If something makes no sense, check your premises and you will find at least one of them is wrong.

Had a similar situation many years ago: they treated me poorly, overwhelmed me with duties, but wouldn't recognize what I was doing or let me leave (I was active duty at the time). They were using me as a workhorse so my single mother cow-orkers could have greater freedoms to handle their personal lives. When I finally did leave, a guy I knew still there later reported that the office fell apart because nothing was getting done.

Well I feel like I committed the sin of trust once again.

Trust but verify. If the "can you do this extra thing" requests come too early or in larger quantities--particularly if you see others not being tasked the same way--consider that you're not being treated fairly. Document everything, particularly if they use emotional blackmail or shaming language, because many men don't understand why those are used against them.

I'll tell you this much: in this economy where people are BEGGING for employees, doing anything other than making your employees happy is daft. If you don't like what you're doing or how you're being treated, leave. There are PLENTY of other jobs out there.

God I wish I was pulling 60-80 hour work weeks, the overtime would have been used to kill off my debt and any extra used to move away.

Sounds like new job time. I got a shock at work recently when I found out that they are offering new hire delivery truck driver the same pay I'm getting after 15 years at the company.

It's been my experience that success in life is going between failures without a loss of enthusiasm.

Your partisanship is tripping over itself. You blame Biden for the economic recovery that gives you more business, thus accidentally admitting the Biden recover exists.

But your rabid political obsessions are a red herring. This is the fault of unrestrained capitalism. The pandemic meant that the corporations told their slaves to get lost and go die. Now that business has begun again their slaves are all gone. The workforce finally had time to do the math and realized they were spending more on fuel/daycare/etc. than they were making as wage-slaves.

So the few people who are left get abused, because raising pay is just not acceptable. I don't know who you work for, but odds are good your management team has orders from the highest level that if a worker gets a good review there needs to be a second, awful one just to keep the worker down. Some big box stores literally go out of their way to fire people just so they can re-hire them later with a "you're lucky we let you come back." All to stop them from getting raises or worse, organizing and unionizing. That's not exaggeration that's corporate policy.

Good luck, hope you fine a better job. Hell, I hope you find a better job and your current place throws an even bigger raise to get you to stay.

Im just going to do what’s good for me!

I know the feeling. I've been doing 60-hours a week since August and it's killing my body, literally. My mental state has also suffered and being a diabetic; that's not a good combo.

I've been wanting to go full 3D but just couldn't get going because every time I tried to learn it, I'd go 50+ hours. I do take an "art vacation" every April and September where I don't draw, so again, I'm gonna try to at least learn to model a base character form and maybe even try to modify a preexisting model from either Poser 3D or Daz3D if I can't do it by hand in Blender.

I'm desperate to make my characters and everything else in 3D. I was even considering stopping drawing together just to learn.

If the situation at work doesn't improve soon, I'm going to look for another one. I'll probably take a pay hit but the benefit to my mind and body might be worth it.

If nothing changes soon, I may just abandon 3D modeling and even hand drawn art altogether. This job is going to kill my art passion, it's determined to.
