That is, if he wants to conquer anymore... I think he understands occupying Ukraine would probably go worse than Afghanistan for his Government.

I expected friendly fire. With the number of citizens fighting on their own, it is inevitable Ukrainian militias will mistake one another for Russian troops. It happens even to professional armies...

War is expensive in lives. And yes, both countries will be worse off. But I think Ukraine will be the worse of the two. For lives lost, displaced, permanently scarred and injured (not just physically)...

It is expensive it a shame not only Putin and his friends paying the bill. I just hope it concludes fast the expenses are mounting.

Heya, I know how you feel. War is only good business for the ones who like to trade in profits. Ironically enough, the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition also state in rule 35 that Peace is good for business as well. Hell, Rule 76 says "Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies." Unfortunately, for people who are rich, Rule 10 Greed is Eternal. (I actually own a copy of Ira Steven Behr's first printed copy of The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition, and I never really fully understood that somehow, our world was actually going to FOLLOW them)

Also, if you get a chance, there's a song on Youtube by a Latvian musician who put together a short 2 minute song that pretty much sums up how all of us feel right now. It's called Puck Footin' by Uamee.

I know the feeling, i am from Croatia and we too are having a slight inflation, though i did not expect it to be so bad in Hungary.

As of right now, forget the future and just take one step at a time, day by day to get through this, also try to reconnect with family or friends since a support network like that is invaluable.

For future reference - do not save in your own currency or use iffy banks belonging to Russia or China (a lot of people here got hung out to dry when Sberbank went under), use either Euro, Dollar or gold/silver since if those fail, money will be the last of your problems.

In 2008 my family had a nice fat loan in European currency. I still paying back that when it skyrocketed out of control, and it wasn't even my loan. Heh, the Big bank man cant lose its expected interest money. Oh but I can.
I learned that there isn't a safe bank for regular people, only for entities that are too big to fail. Bank where you want, if a mad man somewhere on this big globe does some crazy shit you might just end up penniless overnight if you are unlucky enough.

Was it the Swiss Franc disaster perchance? It was a big problem here as well. And yes, keeping money in a bank is essentially bad for anything else other than when you are earning money (basically, you use it as a wallet) - it's useless for savings as you'd need millions in order to get a decent interest. The rich keep their wealth in assets, state bonds (G7 countries) or gold/silver iirc.

There was a global economic recession and then when things started looking up there was a global pandemic.

And this impacts millennials harder than Gen X or Gen Z how? It impacts differently.

Gen Z is just as screwed, but they aren't as old, which makes me think he might be millennial. Boomers and first few of Gen X lived through the best economy in modern memory, and they did it with a "I got mine" mentality that screwed over future generations.

Uh, most of Gen X is at the mercy of Boomers. The average age of a US Senator is almost 64, for example, and the House, a little over 58. That means it's mostly boomers, since the OLDEST Xers are 57. (1965 being the first year of X)

Gen Xers have seen SIX global recessions (or five, depending on your definition), and many are wondering if their retirement savings are going to be worth a damn when they reach the age, or if they're going to have to work into their 70s.

We went from living under the threat of nukes, to recession, to peace, another recession, to maybe things being peaceful, followed by a nasty attack that triggered another recession and a major conflict...

The 90s were supposed to be 'peace dividends'. And what did we get out of it? Wars resulting from the piss-poor decisions of our Boomer leaders, and recessions...

Depending on the recovery, Xers will have a shorter time to get back up economically for retirement than Millennials or Zers will...

Gen Xers born in 1965 would have been 25 in 1990. That was basically the best economy in recent memory. They had the dot com boom. Etc.

Most millennials don't have any retirement at all. Once it looked like there were going to get their "90s" the pandemic hit.

Nem tudom mit mondhatnék, ami jobbá tenné a helyzeted/helyzetet. Nekem van spórolt pénzem, és a szüleim is tudnak támogatni, hisz 4 utcányira laknak és szeretik a megkönnyíthetik (vagy megnehezítik) a kislányuk életét. Nélkülük tuti nekem is sokkal több dolgom lenne.

Én az inflációt a bolti árakban láttam elszállni. Az árak már-már haladó ország szintű külföldiek, a fizetés bezzeg alig változott. Be akarják vezetni az Eurót itt??? Az árak ott vannak, de a fizetést tuti meg kellene duplázni vagy triplázni MINIMUM, hogy hasonlóak legyünk pl Németországhoz. De szerintem "efféle jólét" nem fenyeget minket, mert ha Euró lenne itt, akkor külföld könnyen belelátna a pénzügyeinkbe, és rájönnének mennyire át vagyunk vágva...a munkásosztály elsősorban. A korrupciós ügyekre is könnyebben fény derülne. Nem akarja ezt a jelenlegi...szóval aki korrupt.

Visszatérve az inflációra, én is bevásárlásnál tapasztalom. Hús, kenyér, sajt, meg nagy álltalában minden ami nem-megújuló egyszeri használatos termék (mosópor, wc papír, sampon, stb.), mindnek az ára szinte majdnem megduplázódott. Én abban a helyzetben vagyok, hogy szeretek jókat enni, és megveszem amit kell, hogy jól éljek amíg élek, de nem lájkolom hogy ugyanazért duplát fizetek, amíg a fizetésem sehova nem mozdult, mondjuk felfelé ha lehetne!

A pizzás is árat emelt, így amit szoktunk rendelni filmhez, bár nagyon finom és jól megrakják, 2800Ft-ról 3500Ft-ra emelkedett. Ugyanazért +700Ft-ot kiadni...Kiadom, de tuti sokkal kevesebbszer. Ugyanez volt anno a Chips-adóval (ami pont chips-re nem volt kiadva), és amit szerettem kapott egy +100Ft vagy nagyobb emelést. Utálok többet adni ugyanazért, és persze a fizetés maradt a régi. Megveszem amit szeretek, és amit muszáj mert bevált, de nem szeretem amikor a zsebem lyukasnak érződik.

Nem üt meg az infláció egzisztenciális szinten, de a hátamba tőrt nem kérek! Tényleg sajnálom hogy meg kell húznod a gatyafűzőt! Van nálunk is munkatárs, aki lassan állt talpra. Házat épít és hónapról hónapra él. Sikerült neki összeszedni 900ezer forintot, de ugye az semmi, ha ki kell majd adnia valamire, pl. bebútorozni. Kis lépéseket tesz és inkább lassan fejlődik, de van ennyi pénze vész estére. Neki sem jött jól az áremelés, az biztos.

Az orosz kútfej meg jobb lenne ha nyugdíjazná magát, ahelyett hogy bekavar a kisembereknek! Remélem a közelébe lesz olyan merész/hős aki megállítja, vagy rábeszéli a háború abbahagyására! Egyértelműen beletört a bicskája, és már csak hülye döntéseket hozhat...és hozott amikor belekezdett.

A mostani kormány nem akarja a szottyadt eurót bevezetni.Az maga volna a kifosztószivattyú.Megint.Rögtön fizethetnénk az igen tetemes portugál,olasz,görög,spanyol (PIGS országognak csúfolja a nemzetközi pénzpiac) adósságot.A maastrichti kritériumokat rágen nem teljesítik,szabály szerint már rég ki kellett volna rakni őket az euró zónából.Ettől csak a többiek befizetései meg némi mellénézés mentesíti őket.Lehet itt korrupciózni,de ami helyette jönne az már java részt volt.Az egész életem bánta.Nem kell köszi.Majd a MHM.Csak még kicsi.

Azt aláirom hogy oroszokat is jól behuzták a csöbe. Azt is lehetet látni hogy ami etnika tisztogatás majd elöbb utobb fegyveres konfliktusá növi ki magát. Engem ez kicsit emlékeztett nem is olyan régen történt délszláv háborúra. All i can hope for now is that Russia doesnt decide to spread beyond Ukraine to your boarders if they break through.
