My shit works this way, and I'm in no position for a grand upgrade on thech so how about we settle that may sit continues to work. All the millionaire tech bros wait till I manage the money for an upgrade my way, and like not to try to force it through, trying to sabotage my system, citing verses from the "planned obsolescence" bible.

Agreed, I wish there was a specific word for the feeling when someone shoves an unwanted uneccesary upgrade onto your system. Security updates is one thing but most of mine end up changing the orientation of my devices as well. It's vexing. It honestly feels like a violation at times. Though I suppose that sounds alarmist. Perhaps it was my mistake for assuming anything electronic I own was mine in this digital age.

Wow I have never seen Windows do something like that before. You said you fixed it, what was the problem? I'm really curious what could make it act like that.

Windows update fucked up explorer.exe. It crashed. You need to know 2 things. Explorer is running you desktop, so if that goes down, your desktop goes with it too. The other thing is that Windows automatically restarts it in case it crashes, but it kept crashing, restarting in an endless loop. That's what you see.

The final fix was that I had to force Windows into repair mode with a setup disk after nothing worked.

Wow that's crazy, explorer's a pretty vital thing to fuck up. But I'm not surprised an update did it, that's Microsoft for you.

Windows update happend. It's more like an assumption from my part because I don't see anything sus in the logs really.

That is a "Windows Hello" bug that slipped into an update recently. I had it happen on my laptop.

My PC grew old as well and sometimes stops when booting up Windows. A restart solves it, but I suspect that some of it's parts are slowly dying from being overused. Gotta make plan to buy a modern machine...Not looking forward to learn to handle a new Windows. The only thing I am giddy about to use those Card HDDs instead of "block" SSDs. Very compact. I use other data HDDs on an outside dock, so I don't need a tower anymore. I plan to buy one of those cube houses for compactness sake. Also looking forward to have more RAM power then 4Gbyte both in size and in speed. I guess programs and even websites will be loading tons faster. I'll see...

I can only support getting an SSD it is the best thing one can do to improve it old rig.

Amen to that. It was a huge difference! Boot sequence under 10 seconds is a godsend.

A következő windows updateig igen. Aztán majd jöhet a káromkodás meg a megoldás keresése neten. Windows furja rendesen 10-et hogy rászedjen a váltásra.

Esetleg ha a rendszered elérte a "top teljesítményét" akkor ki is lehetne kapcsolni azt az update funkciót, és tenni rá hogy milyen frissítés jött ki hozzá ezután. Én is utálom, hogy azért hogy rávegyenek a vásárlásra, a régi cuccaimat akarják tönkretenni a neten keresztül. Szép új világ. Ahelyett hogy jobbá tennénk a cuccainkat, ezzel meggyőzve minket hogy a várárlás megéri és túl előnyös hogy kihagyjuk (Normál gyerekroller munkába vagy elektromos hogy gyorsan elérjem a vonatot...pl.) elrontják a régi cuccost, kikényszerítve a javítást/nem akart vásárlást. Kapitalizmus okés, de tisztelhetnék a pénzem vásárlóerejét is, ha már egyszer odaadtam. Persze eladni egy picit """jobbat""" az elrontott helyet könnyebb mint "nagyon jobbat" alkotni, amitől leesik az állam ls kinyílik a lábam pénztárcám...

Tl;dr; Kapcsold ki a frissítést, és elleszel még egy darabig...remélhetőleg!
